MINNEAPOLIS -- Six Muslim imams on Monday were removed from a US Airways flight at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and questioned by police for several hours before being released, a leader of the group said.

The six were among passengers who boarded Flight 300, bound for Phoenix, around 6:30 p.m., airport spokesman Pat Hogan said.

A passenger initially raised concerns about the group through a note passed to a flight attendant, according to Andrea Rader, a spokeswoman for US Airways. She said police were called after the captain and airport security workers asked the men to leave the plane and the men refused.

It must suck for them to lie in the bed they and their cult made.

shrug. Considering the damage their cult has done to this world, Im not concerned that they were delayed or embarrased.

Reached by cell phone just after his release, Shahin said he didn't know where they would spend the night or how they would try to get back to Phoenix on Tuesday. Hooper said US Airways refused to put the men on another flight.

Gee, I wonder why six Islamic guys praying on a commercial flight might cause passenger distress? CAIR intends to file a complaint.

Silly American infidels. /SARCASM

Imams aren't exactly your regular Sunday school teachers.

Good to see passengers have their eyes open. Someone has to do the racial profiling.

They shouldn't have been released. They should be charged with whatever is appropriate for refusing to leave the plane when asked. They should do jail time, although I realize few judges in Minnesota are likely to have the necessities for that. Expect a lot more of this kind of behavior in the near future from Muslims emboldened by the Democrat advance in the elections.

On the radio (Fox news) said they all stood up and prayed. HAS anyone ever seen Muslims standing to pray? All I ever see is people on rugs.

Shahin expressed frustration that _ despite extensive efforts by him and other Muslim leaders since even before the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks _ so many Americans know so little about Islam.

Dear Shahin, you would be surprised how well versed Americans are in the particulars of Islam.

I heard the lady who wrote the note understood Arabic very well and said the "scholars" were saying anti-American stuff and it was scaring her. I'm sure she won't want her identity made public at this point.

What's happening in Phoenix? The "unemployed" man they questioned at the Detroit airport tuesday (with the $79,000 in cash and the nuclear materials info on his computer) was headed there also.

What was the flight crew doing? They'd be more adept in profiling bad guys than Joe Passenger.

My opinion, they should have skipped their prayer ritual if they didn't want to cause this mess! I'm sure they knew what would happen, arrogant & sticking it in our faces!!

An airplane OF ALL PLACES is not a place for Muslim rituals! GEEEEEZ!!!

We don't know enough about Islam?

Hey, Imams, all I needed to know about Islam I found out on September 11, 2001, to borrow an often-used phrase here on this board.

Isn't 6:30PM a bit PAST immamian evening prayer time?
