I want to Thank all "Conservative" Non-Voters
November 18, 2006 | new yorker 77

Thank you for giving us blanket amnesty for illegals.

Thank you for courageously abandoning our troops.

Thank you for handing victory to the terrorists.

Thank you for guaranteeing higher taxes.

Thank you for guaranteeing no more conservative judges.

Thank you for empowering John McCain.

Thank you for bringing back universal health care.

Thank you for endless investigations.

Most of all, I want to thank you for showing complete disregard for the tens of thousands who spilled their blood to give you your right to vote.

Your callous, self-serving apathy has guaranteed the government actions that you so bitterly complained about.

A final reality check to all you non-voters who still call your self conservative:

You are not a conservative.
You define un-American.
You define un-patriotic.
Please stop pretending to care about the troops.

To all you people who actually voted.

Thank you for defending our Constitution.

Yes, I think you deserve to rant. And a good rant at that for a newbie. Unfortunately, your rant will just barely reach the choir.

It is the GOP that let everyone down, not some mythical block of "conservative non-voters"

If a bunch of people hadn't voted 3rd party, we would have won.

Has it occurred to you that conservatives did, in fact, vote? Could it possibly be that the Democrats, combined with moderates actually outnumbered us?

The lack of results from the Republican controlled congress drove the moderates away. It is entirely possible that the moonbats will drive them back if the Republicans smarten up and start working together for conservative principles.

If the McCain arm of the party continues to control the outcome of every decision, the future of the Republican party is bleak at best.

The swing voters are the ones most to blame. Independents went heavily to the Dems this time. And blame those in Congress who demoralized the base with their poor performance and their weak campaign. Had Congress down a better job of keeping spending down and sticking to Conservative principles and had the Republicans managed to run a campaign with a coherent message and a modicum of unity we'd have won hands down.

Go to Hell - I'm sick of these posts and threads denigrating conservatives for supposedly "staying home."

WE ALL VOTED, THE GOP STILL LOST - GET OVER IT

That's probably alot easier than looking at why/how it happened and actually trying to do something about it.

I agree about Savage. He was so full of himself before the election...did 8 million listeners really sit home because he decided to pay the GOP back for not going on his show? I don't know. I bet some did. For me it just showed where Weiner is really coming from and now I listen to Levin.

Here's why:

It is your "perception" that half of FR folks stayed home. I'd bet that very few FR people failed to vote. You are confusing what you read in the press about the "stay-at-home Republicans."

I find your incessant rants objectionable.

The last time I looked, voting was not compulsory.

Stating that someone who didn't vote as being unpatriotic? That dopey statement really frosts my ass.

It's an American's right to choose.

In '08 I'll be voting for Newt or Rudy. If you disagree, am I unpatriotic because I didn't vote for your guy?

Do you think Joe Lieberman and Zell Miller are unpatriotic? I'm sure they voted for democrats.

Take a deep breath, suck it up, and just get off it.

I understand your feelings. I think it's the responsability of everyone to vote, conservative or liberal.

I also think it's the responsability of our elected officials to defend our borders and our laws when in office. If they do not. Well, there's not much for the voter to get excited about.

See, I think when election day did come, the likely conservative voters did vote. The problem is that this likely voter would normally be excited enough to be encouraging the unlikely voter to go and vote. This likely conservative voter you talk about probably did vote, but probably wasn't excited enough to go and work to get out the vote as did happen in 2002 and 2004. I think that's where we lost.

I voted GOP but let me say this: Even the majority le... ahem.... new minority leader agrees with the posters here who are saying that the GOP left US. Read John Boehner's letter at house.gov. Take your medicine if you're a loyal GOP'er. Did YOU write your reps over the last few years to let them know how you feel on things? Sometimes people HAVE to be fired from their jobs to understand you mean business. And thats what a lot of people did. I'm a conservative first. I was very fortunate to have a solid conservative for my Rep. But i feel for you who had weasels for REps. I would have fired a weasel too.

But at the same time, sit back and get some chips or popcorn and watch the demonrats destroy themselves over the next two years. They are already off to a good start and haven't even taken control yet. National Healthcare??? Are you kidding? Thats one reaosn the GOP was propelled into power!! The American people said WAIT A MINUTE NOW! And you had the 104th Congress. All things will work out in the end here if we don't continue to abandon our principles.

I hope they'll be happy having pelosi as speaker and reid as senate majority leader.

Wrong. We don't like the Dims anymore than you guys did.

We all voted Republican, yes, even the "stay at home" conservatives slouched their behinds to the voting booths and voted Republican.

THE GOP LOST DUE TO HISTORICAL TRENDS (I.E. THE SIX-YEAR MID-TERM "ITCH") & THE FACT THAT THEY COULDN'T CONVINCE A LARGE SWATH OF VOTERS TO VOTE FOR THEM. ENOUGH WITH THE DEMONIZING, THE DENIGRATING, AND THE HOLIER-THAN-THOU FREEPERS WHO WANT TO BLAME VOTERS BECAUSE THE GOP COULDN'T GET THEIR S--T TOGETHER.

The GOP has to get votes.

Right on man, sing it to the people! I don't understand getting mad at non-voters. That is like some crappy sports team crying about low attendance.

It is the job of the party to get votes. The party failed.

Conservatives are being divided. Unfortunately to me it seems internal though. People have a right to vote for who they choose. I may disagree but I will support that right. Would it not be better to admit that many are unhappy with the direction and listen to their concerns and bring them back?. Past experience shows that scare tatics and name calling didn't bring them around on the 7th.

In the spirit of truth and reconciliation, please allow me to say.

KISS MY ASS!

Every time one of you guys goes off on one of your "VOTE MY WAY OR YOU SUCK!" rants, you have to know you're gaining more and more converts to your cause.

Sure, yeah, right...

Grow Up!

Maybe we should start having voting parties. You can only come if you can prove you voted!

5 or 6 years ago, I started going to a neighbors house who held weekly bible study meetings. I figured it was a great way to meet more people. Wonderful people, mostly Babtists. The neighbor was homeschooling his great kids.

One night we got into a complaing session about crime, societies problems, etc. I asked to see a show of hands of who voted in the last election. Out of about 20 people, I was the only one who had voted. These were good conservative, community oriented people....who don't get involved.

I really gave it to them that night!

I do agree that the Republicans had become somewhat slack, but we did get 2 good SCJ's. We could have packed the court with good justices's even with RINO's in office. We let our troops down. Radical Islam is very close to taking America. All they needed was for us to leave Iraq and not take them serious. There was just so much at stake this time.
