The rumors that chief White House political architect Karl Rove will leave sometime next year are being bolstered with new insider reports that his partisan style is a hurdle to President Bush's new push for bipartisanship. A key Bush advisor tells the US News Political Bulletin, "Karl represents the old style and he's got to go if the Democrats are going to believe Bush's talk of getting along." The advisor said a departure might come in "weeks, not months." A Rove ally, however, noted that he has a record of out-witting his critics.
But then those punches that would have gone to Rover will now go to Bush instead. He's useful as flypaper like that.
You'd think he'd want to stay on and be a part of the greatest political sell out of the American people..."Comprehensive Immigration Reform". Wise to not be tarnished in the history books with that one. Rove you magnificent bastard!
>"Tantrums brought this disaster and they're not through stamping their feet and banging their drums against republicans that don't measure up to their standards."<
As is apparent from some of the posters on this thread.
It leaves a lot of suspects though, huh?"
Not many named Bogus though!
Both President Bush's are good men - but good/innocent/trusting men can be played by bad men. Rove is a good man, but he's no one's fool... Bush needs him.
I'm not saying he shouldn't "get along with the Democrats". I'm saying he shouldn't be trying to score political points by co-opting the issues of the opposing party:
- CFR
- The Farm Bill
- The Education Bill
- Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit
- Others that I can't recall at the moment
That isn't statemanship, that's gamesmanship and I'm sick of it.
Yep, without Congress-critters giving voters a reason to vote FOR them, and after undermining Bush even on issues when he was not doing a "getting-along-with-Dems-strategery" (particularly running from "stay the course and win" in Iraq etc.), there's only so much that GOTV can do - at some point people just don't GO... especially when so many Dems presented themselves as conservatives (Rahm really did a great job on this, going back to phony DLC-Clinton "Third Wave" playbook).
True, that communication from Bush WH with Congressional Republicans was dismal, but Dole in charge of RSCC? Puhllleaze! Yet Congressional GOP for the most part just re-elected their leaders, blaming elections entirely on Bush.
Disinformation to get the Pelosi failure off the fire.
Thanks.....quite a few here can see no farther than the end of their noses.
See my post right above this one...
How was Hughes, the new GOP shill for Islam, an asset to Rove?
I think some of them do not care to. Sad and pathetic. I will fight on though with the likes of other patriots like yourself and those that see the big picture.
In Texas, he and the Dems spent money like drunk sailors. That will probably be the basis for their relationship in D C as well.
When a formal announcement is made I will believe it. Until then it is a rumor.
That said, what is Karl Rove's job description? I thought it was to get Republican's elected. He did a heck of a job in 2000, 2002 and 2004. I don't think 2006 can be blamed on him. Abramoff, Ney and Foley had a helping hand.
It would make sense for Rove to find a new candidate to work for. His job with President Bush seems to have ended on Nov 7, 2006. Time to get the GOP Presidential team for 2008 elected. Whoever it may be, I suspect Rove will be on the team. Democrats would pee in their pants upon the news that Rove is working for a new Presidential candidate for the 2008 election.
Standing at the front of the line was Michelle Malkin, Bill Kristol, Michael Savage and Rich Lowery. I for one am done with them. Their screeching has only helped the donks and these dumbasses are too stupid to realize they helped discourage voters from the GOP.
