Rove May Leave Within Weeks
U.S. News & World Report ^ | November 17, 2006

Posted on 11/17/2006 12:00:02 PM PST by West Coast Conservative

The rumors that chief White House political architect Karl Rove will leave sometime next year are being bolstered with new insider reports that his partisan style is a hurdle to President Bush's new push for bipartisanship. A key Bush advisor tells the US News Political Bulletin, "Karl represents the old style and he's got to go if the Democrats are going to believe Bush's talk of getting along." The advisor said a departure might come in "weeks, not months." A Rove ally, however, noted that he has a record of out-witting his critics.

Screw the bipartisanship.

We didn't elect Dubya six years ago to get along with Democrats.

We elected him to NOT get along with Ds.

I dunno. These two have pulled off quite a few Rope-a-Dopes over the years. Even if it LOOKS like Karl is gone...will he really be gone?

*Cue Music of Intrigue* ;)

Hard to tell what the real back story is here. My guess is that Rove is leaving and had planned on leaving at this point all along. I would further speculate that attaching the bipartisanship angle to Rove's long planned for departure is simply an attempt to tack on political points for free.

I suspect Bush tries to push his old dream: a bipartisan relationship like when he was a governor.

I thought they had a plan for the elections; they didn't.

I thought they had a plan for Syria; they don't.

I thought they had a plan for Iran; they don't.

The Abramoff story is at most half over. It's good to get Rove out of town.

Poor Harry Reid, he can't get out of town.

Bupartisan bloodbath coming soon.
