CALL HER 'NANCY SHREW'? (Pelosi caricature of shrill, petty woman boss)
NY POST ^ | November 17, 2006 | DEBORAH ORIN-EILBECK

Posted on 11/17/2006 3:02:45 AM PST by Liz

Forget "The Devil Wears Prada---the hot show in Washington is "The Shrew Adores Armani." In just a few short days, House Speaker-to-be Nancy Pelosi has turned into a caricature of the shrill, petty woman boss. Armani-loving Pelosi demanded, in heavy-handed diva fashion, that House Democrats back her ethics-challenged antiwar crony, Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.), as her chief deputy - acting as if she's the queen whose word must be law. But it all blew up in her face; Murtha lost 149-86 to Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), a onetime Pelosi rival whom she wants to keep squashed down......Pelosi's first move as House leader left her a big-time loser.

"She messed this up so badly, it's breathtaking. It raises real concerns about whether she can separate her personal issues from the issues of the Democratic caucus," says a veteran Democratic strategist. "It's not just the heavy-handedness, it's the clumsiness. There can be a stereotype of a woman as petty and personal - and she's now at real risk of creating that image for herself. She's reawakened all the old doubts about whether she is ideologically too liberal for this job, and added new ones as well."

The stereotype of the woman boss as a self-centered witch on wheels who'll run over anyone in her path has plenty of roots in American culture.........so if "Nancy Shrew" becomes the image of the highest-ranking woman ever in American politics - Pelosi will be second in line of succession to the presidency - it'll be a problem for all women politicos, including 2008 prospect Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.....

Pelosi's pushing pal Murtha forced The NY Times to belatedly acknowledge that the "culture of corruption" is bipartisan - not just a Republican evil, as Times news stories and editorials kept suggesting until the election.

The ultimate cat fight: Shrew vs Cankles.

I can't imagine Shillary playing second fiddle to Nazi Pelosi.

If she continues like this it will put a real damper on the idea of hillary as president ........... a distinct possibility.

I knew some great female managers. They would be the ones who came out with us on Friday night, got drunk, ate hot wings with us and on Monday would give us our assignments and ask if we had a good weekend.

IOW, they were guys with breasts.... ;-)

Please refrain in future from attempting to give credit of any kind in any way to this woman. I am not quite so naive as to believe that she raised her own children, either. Additionally, do you honestly believe that if her children did anything the rest of us would consider embarrassing, and did it in California, that anyone would ever hear about it?

In my part of the country calicos are referred to as "money cats" by people of my parents generation, the superstition being that if you have one you will never be without money.

Bacon and Hap have a portly calico named Ginger. I don't know that she's been that good a provider, but she's aces at getting shaved.

Don't know about the American culture but it sure does describe a certain former First Lady who used to roam the halls of the White House with orders not to be spoken to or looked at directly....

The Wicked Witch of the West might be a more befitting moniker. What is really scary is that Pelosi is Hillary lite. Imagine Queen Hillary as president.

Money cats, eh. Beyond - was it your twenty or your neighbors twenty?

A real cat burglar, eh???

Cary Grant (To Catch A Thief) would be jealous.

I wonder why we don't hear anything about her winery not being unionized.

LOL............... the old lefty media would have to expose her as the hypocrite (and this is my term) CASTLE COMMUNIST that she is.

What's good for the peons is not good for her.

Chappaqua's Madame Rotten Hamhocks is the same way.

Maybe that's what she was doing when she sort of disappeared for a while before the election. Ya think?!

"In just a few short days, House Speaker-to-be Nancy Pelosi has turned into a caricature of the shrill, petty woman boss."

I liked the cartoon someone published the other day, which had Nancy demanding, among other things, that "henceforth all toilet seats in the Capitol will be left DOWN."

Can't wait for the infighting to begin between the leftists and the moderates in the Dem party. The Dems in the House will spend the entire two years bickering with each other.

"Do you at least give Nancy Pelosi credit for giving birth to five children?

Sure, five pregnancies are tough. But, they are a lot tougher when you have to do everything yourself. Nancy certainly didn't schlep five kids through the grocery store and then schlep it home and put it away.

I'm sorry. I dislike the woman and everything she proposes.

These women (and men) in positions of wealth believe that if you work for them, they OWN you. There is no exemption for "time off" because in their view there is no time off (for you). They also view the "lower orders" as simply tools and all the platitudes that spew from their mouths about populism is the Platonic view of Philosopher Kings, Military and then....the flotsum and jetsum of human detritus.

Sorry. I'm ranting this morning....

Ginger is usually a LOT fluffier. She gets shaved occasionally - she has that soft undercoat that some very fluffy cats have, and when the outer coat is off, she's like petting silk!

Freakin' weirdo, though. She's psychotic.
