BREAKING NEWS:
Conservatives with Attitude! insiders are informing us that Congressman John Murtha will DROP OUT of the running for the number 2 spot in the House as Majority Leader.
Even if he does stay in the race, he will fall short by a few votes.
This will serve as a big blow to Nancy Pelosi.

Murtha has a lifetime ACU rating of about 33, compared to Hoyer at 8. Murtha was far more conservative than Hoyer.
Just for reference Lieberman is a 17 lifetime. Chafee is a 37.
Lifetime, Hillary is a 9, Feinstein an 11, Cynthia McKinney a 7.
The liberal is the winner, I doubt if Pelosi is too bummed out.

Hoyer is the better choice for the nation and that's good enough for me.

I never desired Murtha to win. He's a lunatic. The House is the U.S. House of Representatives...not the Dem. House or the GOP House. The leadership in the House has an impact on all Americans.
To: cripplecreek
Thats what we want. Right?
Whats best for the nation?
Not what makes our party look best.

She was only going through the motions. She didn't make much of an effort beyond issuing her letter of support.
Where have YOU been the past several days? Several new freshmen reps have reported their experiences being called on the carpet by Nancy and arm-twisted to vote her way. Fred Grandy (former congressman) was on the radio this morning talking about Pelosi's strong arm tactics to get her people into key posts re Murtha vote vs Hasterts' much different low key approach. This infighting ought to get interesting now!

I remember Hoyer as on of the biggest anti-Reagan mouth-pieces back in the 80's. Murtha is politically much closer to the Blue Dogs than Hoyer.
The question is, how many of Murtha's vote's were an obligation for Pelosi and how many wanted a more conservative democrat, regardless of Murtha's baggage
To: HOTTIEBOY
Good point, H. Hoyer will be much better for our military and all of us.

I didn't desire him to win either because I KNEW he would mess things up.
We can't talk smack about Democrats wanting to look good at the expence of the country if we do it too.

In other news, Nancy Pelosi's relatives are now trying to figure out what to do with investments purchased in Okinawa.

I am quite happy the big galoot will not be the majority leader. However, don't think for one minute that the hysterical Pelosi hasn't provided the bait for an endeavor she knew would fail. How do you think she got to be the monetarily rich, so and so that she is? It certainly wasn't by being nice. That is nowhere to be found on her agenda. Not now, nor anytime in the future. She fleeced and lied to everybody and their brother. And she's at it again!
She can obviously wrap Hoyer around her little finger so he'll be her puppet...
To: BigSkyFreeper
Instead, he cut'n'run. The Democrat war hero mindset.
To: HOTTIEBOY
Exactly!!!
It's scary to think what the Dems agenda will do to this country. We know what they are capable of and what their mindset is, and that can be so damaging for this country.
IMO, although I fear the worse, I do hope the best is achieved, for the sake of our country.
