good one! "Camptown ladies sing they're song, doo da, doo da"
Damn. When you've lost hope, then all hope is lost.
Then again, it wasn't like there was much of a conservative choice in the minority whip race.
We'll see more "equal" seating on the committees now. He is the fellow who wanted the committees to be "FAIR" to both parties and we got skewed, and he's the fellow who didn't want anything to do with the x42 impeachment. BRAVE GUY, always wants to be luuuuuvvvved by the oposition He and Frist are cut from the same cloth, same corner.
"Tough break about that 'macaca' thing, George."
"That's okay. I'm planning on making a comeback, just like you."
"Well my advice to you is, go on BET and explain out to everyone how you aren't a racist. And while you're at it, tell them you're not Jewish either."
"Well my advice to you is to get that tire cozy off your head."
"Tire cozy? You better be talking in some foreign language you don't understand again, George."
Few, if any, deserve defending more than you.
It is unbelievable that any FReeper would attack you.
Where was the Not-So-Reverend Jesse when Dem Senator Byrd used the n word just recently. Wasn't Byrd a Grand Cyclops of the Imperial KKK back in the 50's, as well? Hmmmmm
WHAT??? When did that happen? How did I miss it? Were you able to snag more docs before it happened?
OMGosh! I'm sorry for all the questions, but ..... ;*)
Your opinion is worth a lot to me!!! ;*)
YEAH, Reid will POWER SHARE with Mr. Pussy, pussy, just like they did before. ALSO ROFLMHO~
Well, you may be right. And especially about McCain running the Senate.
If so, then all of this is moot anyway.
Really starting to smell like third party.
The whip is the guy responsible for getting the votes. While Lott may have had a decent record in his short time as whip in 1995-1996, he let the job wither away when he made it to Republican "leader". Exhibit A was S(l)ick Willie's impeachment; he couldn't even muster 51 Pubbies out of 55 to vote to convict.
LOL! This is too much for my laugh meter!
The defeat was engineered by something known in Congress as "Base Politics".
This definition of Base politics is when the elected representatives of a political party ignore common sense, legislative calmity and responsibility, and then begin knee jerking in different directions to the blaring music of their political base that is often acting irrationally and emotionally.
When this happens, the average Joe blow voter goes into what is known as "Throw the Bums out Mode!"
This is what happened, and you, as well as others on this thread may well have participated by threatening your politician with your vote, if he/she did not kowtow to your demands. As a result, a series of decisions and actions followed that cumulatively pissed off just about everyone in the country, at one point or another. Even if they were not active in politics, the talk at the dinner table was "what have those crazy Republicans been smoking!" They keep going against their own president and dozens of members of their OWN party on issue after issue and then maintain that the Democrats don't know what they are doing and are wrong. Worse than that, they appear to be unreliable, unrepentant, and totally lame! (not to mention crooks!)" "We cannot afford to have them in charge of this country any longer" "They are dangerous, and they appear to have no direction or leadership."
Compared to Pelosi, Republicans appeared to be acting like a bunch of unruly children with no self control.
That's why we lost, and why we will continue to lose.
I'll sit here and watch, the only one he'll go after is Our President. He'll not touch one democrat.
Sen. Alexander ought to be thankful there isn't truth in advertising when it comes to politics; the sign would have been "Lamer!"
Trent Lott is a very strong senator, however he didn't show much of his spine at critical points. Maybe now since he only made this leadership role by the skin of his teeth, he'll do some REAL leading...
Neither is Trent Lott. He's a spineless wuss. He'll get nothing done. All we've proven by putting him back in the leadership is that we don't want to accomplish anything in the next two years.
