Fox & Friends Just Lost ME (Vanity)
Me | 11/14/06 | Kieri

Posted on 11/14/2006 4:18:21 AM PST by Kieri

I've been a Fox News viewer from the very beginning, long before Fox & Friends was created. I remember when E.D. first appeared, filling in for Alison Costarini during the morning news. I've watched Steve, E.D., Brian faithfully all these years, and found them a wonderful break from the MSM's morning spew.

I will admit, I miss E.D., but I was willing to given Gretchen the benefit of the doubt at taking her place. Her performance has been lackluster and this morning she just sank the show for me.

How?

Gretchen Carlson went out of her way to correct Steve and Brian that the term "pro abortion" was actually "pro choice."

Nothing like spinning the ugly truth, is there, Gretchen?

I'm done with Fox and Friends. A show I trusted and enjoyed with my AM coffee isn't what it used to be -- TRUSTWORTHY.

I've been a FReeper since 1997 and have never posted a vanity, so I hope my fellow FReepers will understand. I think other Fox viewers should know what's happened to this staple of morning news, one we're finding we can depend on less and less.

And how about a weekly show called "A Woman's Perspective," with Michelle, Mona Charen, Ann Coulter, Peggy Noonan, and Phylis Schlafley? I'd LOVE to see that sort of chat show!

That would be a GREAT antidote to "The View" (which I've never watched).

Funny thing is that I like F&F - I have it on every morning before work.

I was a fan of ED, just like I was a 'huge' fan of Juliet Huddy before that. They do have their goofball moments, but first thing, I am not quite ready for the hardest news. I like the set up.

Just my opinion.

Good afternoon.
"I live in Texas. It is encouraged."

LOL. What was the line in the movie Miss Congeniality?

"This is Texas, everyone has a gun.". Or something like that.

No, she comes on earlier - an hour after F&F is over.

I really think that any woman who is in the field of news reporting is automatically going to be pro-abortion. There is no way that a woman could get to any kind of position of success while professing a pro-life belief. I vividly remember Roger Ailes making a comment a couple of years back in an interview about how "there are no pro-life women working in newsrooms in NYC". He said that women had told him that "if they had let it be known that they were pro-life, they would never have been hired". Now, I don't necessarily think that Ailes has that policy because he has professed being pro-life himself, but I think that it would be nearly impossible for a pro-life female to get anywhere in the broadcasting business.

So, hearing Gretchen, Kiran, etc. making pro-abortion statements should come as no surprise. These women are everywhere in the career world. It's sad but true.

That's no suprise. They started two years in advance shilling for Bill Clinton and really earned their moniker Clinton News Network, the then boss there, Rick Kaplan was the one who groomed Hillary for her Cookies and Apple Pie appearance on 60 minutes... you know the one with the page boy hairdo with matching headband.

I watched her once. Fox & Friends have become a little too silly for me.

Concure on the Pro-choice assessment.

I'm not watching much news at all until after the next terrorist attack we just invited.

I hate to say it Kieri, but I'm pretty sure E.D is pro-abortion too.

When she was speculating about Alberto Gonzales's nomination to the SCOTUS, and one of the guys said that he's pro-choice, she said (I'm paraphrazing) So what? Roe will never be overturned.

Also, when E.D. talked about the Muslims murdering that nun in reaction to Pope Benedict's speech on war, E.D. said to Steve and Brian, "Well, what about the Crusades?" They were stunned but let it go.

Unfortunately, E.D. doesn't know history and seems to have a negative bias towards Catholics too.

Gretchen has been liberated by the woman's movement. You mis-understand her. /sarcasm

The Difference:

A pro-choice position is one that holds that abortion should be one of the choices. The euphemism is spin in the sense it contains the word choice - something all people enthusiastically support by nature - but says nothing with reference to what, exactly, is being chosen. It is deliberately used to softpedal abortion.

One who is pro-choice wants those who choose abortion to be able to have them. One who is pro-choice wants some abortions to occur. Therefore one who is pro-choice is really pro-abortion.

One who is pro-life wants, ideally, no abortions to occur (and thus wants babies to retain their lives). Therefore one who is pro-life, or anti-abortion, is pro-life.

I believe Dick Armey said it best.

"I have more guns then I need and less guns then I want."

That, actually, is an agreement (widely held and respected) between both the supporters of abortion as well as its opponents

Would have never guessed that this was Miss America from 17 years ago. Time has not been kind to her.

Pro-Life means what it says.

Anybody can be for freedom of choice.

But Pro-Choice in this context means Pro-Death of someone else so that you can do what you wish.

Kieri,

I appreciate your post. I get critical of Fox too. But from another angle:

Did you see: Life and Death in the Culture War (O'Reilly's comments on abortion) http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1736383/posts

Clinics ask how O'Reilly got abortion records (Clinic's Murdering babies) http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1733511/posts

O'Reilly Abortion Report Riles Kansas MD

Kansas Abortion MD Wants O'Reilly Probe
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1732432/posts

Back to F&F: two of the three used the term we Pro-Lifers know is true. The guys are clearly on our side, while Gretchen, well who knows. The fact that the network allows Steve and Brian to say pro-abortion is excellent. I didn't see the show in question but I'd hold out hope.

Fox is not perfect, but is by FAR the best on TV.

I think that they are about to lose me as well. This morning on Fox & Friends First, Brian, Steve and ultra-lib Kiran Chetry were discussing the Rosie O'Donnell-Kelly Ripa controversy. Brian called Rosie a "professional lesbian" and Kiran looked like she wanted to hit Brian because of what he had called Rosie. Kiran then looked like a spoiled little child who felt so bad that her co-host had been so mean and insensitive to call dear Rosie a lesbian.

The libs like to demonize anyone who doesn't put their stamp of approval on this sick lifestyle, and they want to put the tag of "hater" on anyone who believes in God's own words in the Bible concerning this issue. Fox needs to tell this Chetry gal that not everyone agrees with her perverted view of the world. Not by a long shot.

Brian has the right to say what he wants and if this woman didn't like it then to bad..As for the Rosie's comment she should have been fired on the spot..Ever thing has to do with queers to her and she is revolting..I never watched the View I did not like the attitude of the host on that show, any of them..And when they brought Rosie the cow in they really went to pot..They need to put her out to pasture and keep her off TV..As for the comment that Kelly Ripa made to that guy I make the same ones every time someone comes to my house and I tell them before dinner please wash your hands..to my men relatives I say I don't know where that hand has been so don't put it in my potato chip bag or what ever..So you see my men relatives are not queer so I think old Rosie the cow over reacted..I will not eat anything from a bag anyone puts their hands in..and that is because hey you know where mens hands have been and usually they don't wash their hands or maybe they pick their nose..It grosses me out..

I agree completely with your comments. The traditionalists in this country are always pegged as the mean and hateful ones, but the libs like Kiran and others of her ilk make no mention of the perverted and sick agenda that these homosexuals are trying to force on the rest of us 24/7. Makes me sick.
