Fox & Friends Just Lost ME (Vanity)
Me | 11/14/06 | Kieri

Posted on 11/14/2006 4:18:21 AM PST by Kieri

I've been a Fox News viewer from the very beginning, long before Fox & Friends was created. I remember when E.D. first appeared, filling in for Alison Costarini during the morning news. I've watched Steve, E.D., Brian faithfully all these years, and found them a wonderful break from the MSM's morning spew.

I will admit, I miss E.D., but I was willing to given Gretchen the benefit of the doubt at taking her place. Her performance has been lackluster and this morning she just sank the show for me.

How?

Gretchen Carlson went out of her way to correct Steve and Brian that the term "pro abortion" was actually "pro choice."

Nothing like spinning the ugly truth, is there, Gretchen?

I'm done with Fox and Friends. A show I trusted and enjoyed with my AM coffee isn't what it used to be -- TRUSTWORTHY.

I've been a FReeper since 1997 and have never posted a vanity, so I hope my fellow FReepers will understand. I think other Fox viewers should know what's happened to this staple of morning news, one we're finding we can depend on less and less.

May I add that watching Steve Doucey shilling his dumb a$$ book is getting a little boring.

Because they are a bunch of Bimbos. I miss E.D. also. I don't watch FOX anymore I am finished with the news on TV. FOX has taken a turn for the worse. I find it insulting on the weekends it is like Entertainment Tonight. Oh well :)

Well, this was bound to happen. The amount of time it takes depends on ones tolerance for crap.. I've given up on pretty much all 'news' shows.. especially morning ones and that was years ago.

There's better things to do.

You have it exactly right. From the beginning, the abortion "rights" camp has used semantics to smoke-and-mirror the truth and reality of what their ideology is. They got by with it handsomely.

She's goofy and doesn't seem comfortable. She doesn't add anything to the show, imo. Fox made a bad choice.

This moment's a ping
And day's at the morn
FR at seven
Coffee mug is dew-pearl'd
The lark's on the wing
The snail's on the thorn
God's in his Heaven
All's right with the world!

We're all pro choice. Like Rush said, "I just chose life."

I've only used the line once, on a lefty Peace and Justice guy. It brought a puzzled admission from him that he'd never thought of it that way.

I still like Fox and Friends...they sometimes bring up things so they seem 'fair and balanced'...even though I don't like the pro choice remark...F and F is still better than alternative.... I don't think Gretchen is fitting in very well .... If not E.D then maybe Kiren Chetry...

We must find a way to fight the MSM. I will not watch FNC/CNNABCNBCCBS anymore. I will not purchase any liberal fish wraps. All my news via FR, MRC, Townhall, National Review and the blogs MM, Newsbusters and American Thinker. Do we really need anything else! It is a liberating experience to have the TV off! FNC must now be treated like RINOs in politics.

Fox has been moving farther left very slow and below the radar. The weekend and afternoon shows have trouble living up to their motto. While mentioning all the girls, lets not forget that jerk Shep Smith, made a total fool out of himself during Katrina trying to play up to the MSM for brownie points , I guess. And who can leave out their one and only Geraldo, another Fox lib. To get to real confusion and incoherent, there is straight down the middle Bill just lookin out for us.

She's also pro-homosexual, as she made
clear with comments about the perv Foley.

Saying his being a homosexual wasn't any
kind of problem, just that he was playing
in page-pen.

No more for me...I have not been happy
with Gretchen as E.D.'s replacement, for
several reasons, and on Nov 8th, i took
F&F *off* my Watch Wizard list.

So "choice" is the truth about what happens during an abortion procedure, and "abortion" is not? The left can spin it any way they want, but abortion ends a human life. In order to make that idea palatable to the masses, the media calls abortion everything but what it's not: choice, right to choose, termination, reproductive health options, etc. The reality of abortion is thus obscured. It's prettied up precisely because if abortion were repeatedly called what it is, the ending of an innocent human life, more people would face up to the truth and turn against it, and the elites know that. Where unpleasantness is concerned, people prefer to be deceived.

a bit later in this mornings show Carlson unilaterally put on a little skit re the damage that would be done to the african kid that was purchased by madonna......after all, the kid has already been in madonnas household for 3 wks!

Carlson belongs at CNN, or at least limited to substituting for Colmes on H&C. She lacks both a soul and shame.

What is the difference between the two?

Despite the other responses to your question to the contrary, there is a difference, and it matters. There are many people who are opposed to abortion for a myriad of reasons, but who aren't comfortable (for good or ill) with telling others what they can and can't do in that regard. For instance, my moderately liberal brother in law believes that, despite his personal opposition to abortion, because he's a male, he has no dog in the fight and thus considers himself pro-choice. Whether that line of thinking is really logical is irrelevant - what matters is that we understand how people think.

Understanding the terms the other side uses is key in understanding why our efforts to ban abortion have failed. It's true that about two thirds of Americans oppose abortion. It's also true that about two thirds of Americans oppose banning abortion. That's not a contradiction at all - it's simply a reflection of their thinking and of our failure to understand it.

"Six in one hand, half a dozen in the other."

No, not really. "Pro Abortion" is the naked truth.
"Pro Choice" sanitizes it and makes it sound like picking out a piece of chocolate from a box of Russell Stover.

Sort of like saying "intellectually challenged" instead of "stupid", or "motivationally handicapped" instead of "lazy good for nothing".

There seems to be tension between her and the 2 guys and it just leads to a very uncomfortable, awkward feeling when watching them. Today several times (and I haven't watched for more than 1/2 hour I'd guess) she seemed to correct them or disagree with something they said or did.

And the book plugs are shameless and unprofessional. They have just about lost me. They might as well invite Perky Katie to anchor after she's fired.

She, Gretchen, turned me off a long time ago... one day when I turned to the channel, She, primarily (the others too), but Gretchen specially was giggling silly like a little girl because HOWARD STERN of all people!.. was coming or had been there to the studio... or something. Geeee Howards who treats women like cows!... I knew this woman was an idiot really.

E.D. was special, intelligent, beautiful, elegant and she had class...OH and she was conservative!! she was the Elaine in Seinfeld! :) irreplaceable. I don't know why Fox chose this lightweight to replace her.

I don't watch the show anymore, it's not the same.
