It is an Ingram not a UZI.
Could easily be semi auto.
Definitely not a machine gun, could be a SUBmachinegun.

I've seen a .338 lapua round, next to a .338 wm, but have never fired either of them. There is a world of difference there.
Thinking about a .375 H&H for bear next year, which I imagine would knock some hair off too!

The lapua is an excellent looong range round when you don't quite need the impact of a .50 bmg

Appalling police overreaction. Queens is home to many recent Third World immigrants accustomed to celebrating important life cycle events--weddings, funerals, the disemboweling of unchaste sisters--by firing weapons IN THE AIR. They hurt no one, as borough residents have learned to take shelter under hardened structures after the first burst. Time--yet again--for some intense diversity training for New York's Finest. Fortunately,as NY is a "sanctuary city" cops will not divulge the shooter's name to immigration authorities.

Isn't that what a lot of US snipers are using now, in addition to a .300 win mag?
Considered a .45-70 too. Some have told me to go with a heavier bullet that isn't quite as fast.
The
CoPilot (.50 Alaskan ) would be awesome!

Dumb question, but what is the difference between a machine gun and a sub-machine gun?

As far as I can tell we are looking at a semi-automatic or a sub-machine gun. The only machine guns I have seen are 30 or 50 Cal. big things that set on tripods etc.

Is size the only difference between a machine gun, and a sub-machine gun?

Have you seen "Quigley Down Under"? .... amazing shooting. He uses a 45-70 Sharps with an extended barrel.

Submachine gun fires pistol ammo--- .45, 9mm, etc.
Machine gun fires larger ammo- the BAR used 30-06, the .30 Browning air- and water-cooled, also 30-06, and the .50 BMG, affectionately known as Ma Deuce. Also 20mm, 30mm and even 40mm (same rounds, I think, as the old 40mm grenade launcher, the M-79)...

These are machine guns:

These are SUBmachineguns:

----------------------

Machine guns are primarily intended to be crew-served weapons (although can be operated by individuals) and are usually belt fed and tipod/bipod mounted.
SUB machineguns are generally pistols or compact rifles (carbines) that are capable of firing more than one round with a single trigger pull.

"Try a .338 lapua, that'll knock the hair off your chest." - From how heavy a rifle? TRG in .338 has a muzzle brake, but a custom rifle at, say, 16 pounds in pretty handleable even without one.

Finally you have the classic "Chicago typewriter" used during the 1920's to make Chicago roar & to send love notes to gangland rivals on St.Valentines day.

My only experience with the lapua was several years ago with the Sako trg-41 without a brake. The gun weighed just under 11#, I believe the 42 comes with a brake.
With the brake, not "too much" difference between the .300 winmag and .338 lapua. Without it very noticeable. For long range accuracy no comparisons.

"Finally you have the classic "Chicago typewriter" used during the 1920's to make Chicago roar & to send love notes to gangland rivals on St.Valentines day." Which is a Thompson SUBmachinegun.

Who says they got it right? I doubt it was a full-auto. Probably just a scary-looking but junky MAC semi-auto.
