He was probably just cleaning it when it went off several times.

Must be some mistake. They outlawed guns in New York.
To: ElkGroveDan
They're after airguns in MA, now. No kidding.

Yup, no guns in NY, long time ago... they were erased by the lawmaker$.
Just a mistaken report I am sure.

A machine gun as reported by the MSM is really a semiautomatic weapon in reality. The stage is being set for the gun grabbing.

I have to wonder if this was a real machine gun or a semi-automatic weapon. Even if it's a semi-auto, calling it a machine gun serves the purpose of creating hysteria among the liberals and the chant of more gun control. And the new congress will happily oblige.

Why did they shoot the man? It's usually the gun that does the shooting.

Hi All- I'll bet $1,000,000 that it was a semi-automatic weapon as well.
If "eyewitnesses" are providing accounts that they heard seven shots one can almost be assured it wasn't a machinegun. If an individual was going full rock n' roll bystanders wouldn't be able to provide such specific numbers. Why journalists refuse to educate themselves about firearms so they wouldn't make themselves look so incompetent in print is beyond me. Blind hatred of inanimate objects, I suppose.

Where did he steal the money for the ammo? In my gun club [MA, no less] there was a guy with a legal - in MA! - Uzi. He would come in, burn 60+$ of ammo in a few minutes, and disappear for a few weeks. When he'd accumulate some money again, he'd buy more ammo and repeat the cycle.

well, one could count short bursts rather decently. An if the idiot was doing long bursts, he'd run out of ammo in no time.

Amazingly, they got it right this time.
I've heard the phrase 'semi-automatic machine gun' before, and apparently a .338 win mag is now an 'elephant gun'.

Ya know they were aiming at the firearm, so I'd have to believe he was unfortunate collateral damage.
