November 11th is the general's birthday and he like Donald Rumsfeld, resigned during war. General Patton was relieved of his command and decided to resign and Rumsfeld ...well few know the real reason for his resignation...
Yes we've gone over that. He had decided to resign but died before he could do so.

My great-grandma said he was the most foul-mouthed bastard she ever met.
He used to live in San Marino Calif. We used to live there. The town is rich with his history. He was a great man.
My beautiful grandmother cussed like a sailor. I think that was just the way people used to talk.
You know I read somewhere that one of the North Viet. generals was told that our troops never lost a battle in that war and his reply was "That is true, but irrelevent."
"Patton adapted his thinking to the war he was fighting, he did not try to force his mission to fit into his preconceived ideas. Don Rumsfeild was trying to teach you all those same lessons. And like Patton the brass hats hated him as much as they hated Patton in his day"
Now that is some serious delusion. The only thing Rumsfeld was teaching was how best to be a MacNamara clone. Hell, it got even more creepy when he even started combing his hair in the same way. I have no doubt that Patton would've come to detest Rumsfeld. There isn't an ounce of Patton in Rumsfeld. Rumsfeld isn't even fit to polish Patton's boots. Unfortunately, Rummy's replacement probably isn't going to be any better.
Sorry, but you probably should study a little history. Patton didn't resign during World War II.
Here's a starting point for you: Patton died in December, 1945. Germany surrendered in May, 1945. Japan surrendered in August (defacto) and September (formally) 1945. Patton didn't resign before his death. Thus, Patton didn't resign during World War II.
Read my post more thoroughly before you mess up more. Don't take things out of context...bad form.
Not much context needed. As written, it is an historically false statement: and he like Donald Rumsfeld, resigned during war.
The truth is, Patton didn't resign during any war.
You might try referencing legitimate historical sources, rather than fan sites.
For example, for the American response to the German offensive in the Ardennes, see the material starting at page 332 here:
http://www.army.mil/cmh-pg/books/wwii/7-8/7-8_15.htm
and compare it to the version you learned from the movie.
Been there done that. Hint: You really need to read all posts before you spout.
You need to fact-check your vanities before you post, or is Dan Rather your editor?
