I've always had a hard time believing the cover-up theory. What exactly was the motivation? To prevent the need to a military response against militant Islam? To prevent panic? To prevent the country blaming Clinton for allowing it to happen? I suppose all three of these theories have been bandied about, but, I'm sorry, none of them seem convincing to me.

That's convenient, since it eliminates the evidence of explosion or fragmentation on the outside of the aircraft. Surface to air missiles of that era had proximity fused warheads. I find it hard to believe this was a hit-to-kill mechanism like THAAD or PAC-3, since the Clinton administration killed the missile defense projects. So who did this and why would the Clinton admin cover it up?

I have NO DOUBT that that flight was brought down by a surface to air missile. NO DOUBT. The government covered it up and LIED to you. Other credible sources with knowledge have said the same - that KNOW what went on.

Today, surface to air missile incidents are not unheard of. It's accepted. THEN it wasn't so well known and of course they wanted to protect the sheeple with a sense of false security.

I am personally skeptical of deep dark conspiracy theories. The "professionalism" of a document may just mean that the author had a lot of time on his hands.

In design and analysis the rule is to go with the simplest answer that fits the requirements. In this case, it is a single terrorist firing a single missile downing the jet. This was followed by a Clinton administration which refused to acknowledge the existence of a domestic terrorism threat.

BTW: I have slightly more than a passing interest in this story. I still keep an old boarding pass of mine pinned to my cube wall:
