Let me see if I get this last propaganda spin lie fed to the Junk Media by the Democrats right. After the worst sort of slime bag gutter politics and demagoguery for the last 6 years suddenly we are all suppose to play nice since the Dems finally managed to lie their way back into power?
I do not think so.
They think they run things but believe or not, President Bush has a veto pen and we still have more then 40 Conservative Senators to filibuster with.
They need to get along with us. WE can stop anything they want. Let us see if Democrats are stupid enough to forget that fact

Will Rush carry the water for Lott, or will he remind conservatives of the disater Lott was as majority leader. Remember that power sharing deal with Daschle.
They tried to make them permanent each year, and each year enough of the republicans in the senate balked to KEEP it from happening.
The leadership hoped that as they got closer to expiring, they could build pressure to extend them, but that obviously did not work out for them.
My point was that senate republicans BLOCKED the extension of the tax cuts, and the democrats were lock-step against them.
Expect to see most of the middle-class tax cuts made permanent, and the rest to expire.
I expect a limited death tax change exempting the first couple of million dollars, with special exceptions for farmers and family business that don't sell out.
I expect to see the highest tax rate pushed back up, or at least they will try.
Problems on the immigration front are Bush's fault.
He has had almost 6 years to deal with it, and his approach has been to enact a policy of deliberate non-enforcement of the law.
That's the truth. Deal with it.

that when you win, you are treading water and when you loose you are dunked underwater and have to fight back to

Actually, his home is across the street from mine. He moved to Maryland to get away from all the Republicans in our area while Bush is president.

I'm betting that if either Virginia or Montana KNEW that their vote would put democrats in control of the Senate, they would have voted republican.
We would have been better off if people were more scared of losing the senate.

We didn’t hear a mandate for a more liberal direction because the Democrats didn’t present one. Americans don’t share those liberal ideas.
What voters told us is that America is stuck and Washington is broken. Voters told us to move forward by embracing our conservative convictions that Americans agree with and value – and we will.
Americans are looking for more fiscal responsibility, less government and sound traditional values. They want leadership and vision with conservative principles. You don’t develop a vision by looking backwards. I’m keeping my eyes on the horizon – where the future is, and where America is going.
OK, let me get this straight. The people angry about Immigration stayed home so the ONLY people fighting for their side in DC, the US House Republicans, would get fired thus turning the Govt over to the Amnesty Now Democrats?
Hear, hear! Very well said. Here's one of my favorite bumper stickers: "I think, therefore I am Conservative."
I listen to both Rush & Savage (and others). When I get mad at Repubs, Savage says what I tthink: we need to deal with immigration, Iraq etc. Bush needs to fight back. THAT is what I get from Savage. From Rush & Hewitt in particular, I got happy-talk about the Repubs. I saw Boortz on TV today and was repulsed. He was HAPPY the Repubs lost. Savage is the barking dog that should be listened to: look what happened when we swallowed the party line. The Dems were right: fear of a terrorist attack was not enough to keep the Dems from power. Savage is all over the map, and often insanely wrong, but he was wrong on the general theme: Repubs need to ACT conservative, not just talk. We have hold a lot of talk, but not enough action.
I've lived here my whole live, except when I was in the Navy. The change since Bush has been in office has been rapid and dramatic. Local politics hasn't help, but Bush sets the tone on immigration--He is responsible.
