Rush Limbaugh Live Thread Thursday Nov 9, 2006

Let me see if I get this last propaganda spin lie fed to the Junk Media by the Democrats right. After the worst sort of slime bag gutter politics and demagoguery for the last 6 years suddenly we are all suppose to play nice since the Dems finally managed to lie their way back into power?

I do not think so.

They think they run things but believe or not, President Bush has a veto pen and we still have more then 40 Conservative Senators to filibuster with.

They need to get along with us. WE can stop anything they want. Let us see if Democrats are stupid enough to forget that fact

We lost a battle, the war goes on.

Newt is one heck of a conservative...Sure, he has baggage, but if they don't have any, they'll invent some.

They don't have to invent baggage for Newt...he's done a fine enough job of doing that for himself.

...and Rush is quite comfortable with multiple marriages...he doesn't see Newt's lack of character.

Pretty interesting, and powerful. I don't agree with his premise on the gang of 14 specifically, but I do agree in general with the idea that congress spent too much time looking not to lose, like they were in a prevent defense for the last year.

And the idea of not pushing judges through was rediculous, although I blame Bush for not nominating more judges.

All I hear Rush saying is that he is not going to help people that won't help themselves. If that isn't being a true conservative, I don't know what it!

He slams Clinton for that, too.

But the hatred for Bush is real.

Remember, they hate US more than they hate Bush!

Remember the power of America is the individual, not the politicians..

Yes, that's a very important point. I'm resolved to do what I can to educate a few people among my acquaintance between now and 2008. I have four liberal Democrat friends who are also highly intelligent and will listen if I don't harangue.

I think the Socratic method may work best. Ask a question--not a loaded one, but one that may cause them to think. Then gently discuss the principles involved, being careful not to push them.

Does your son believe we should secure our borders?
Foes your son enable the curuption that went on?
Does your son support the way we have tied our solders hands behind their backs in Iraq? i.e. Letting Al "Mookie" Sadr off the hook
Did your son support the insulting nomination of Harriet Miers?
Did your son support the ridiculous Dubia Ports Deal?
Did your son support the out of control spending?
Did your son fel lied to when Bush said two days before the election Runsfield would stay on and then fired by Bush a day after the election?
Did your son support the wrist slap the Bush Justice Department gave Sandy Burglar, when caught RED HANDED stealing Top Secret Memo's?

If you son did not support these above mentioned items, I'd say he' pretty conservative.

"You think that TAXES are going to be the big problem?"

High taxes empower the Government,

Low taxes empowers the people.

Only problem I can have any input on,

can't stop spending,

can't change wars,

but I could help lower tax rates for my neighbors,

it was a fairly clear choice on my ballot,

except the press didn't want to identify fiscal conservatives,

before the election.

A couple of years ago, WABC ran Savage's show around 8pm (I think); anyway it was only running for a very short time there. I tried to listen then but was quickly and completely turned off. More than anything I found he was boring. So he has an audience, that's fine. We all have off buttons on our radios.

Allen losing does have a silver lining--better to find out he's not ready for prime time now than during the 2008 campaign.

McCain/Gulliani--obviously they would be better than Hillary, and of course would get my vote in the general election.

We need to win social issues by educating the public, not by the government dictating to people how they should live.

This is a true and core conservative principle. Many "conservatives" would do well to observe it.
