Then how is Fox able to call it for Cardin over Steele with Steele leading but only 2% of precints reporting?

Yeah, and Kristol's smug grin with his Dem Blowout cr*p makes me feel good about dropping my Weekly Standard subscription back when he was pining and crying for McCain.

I'm going with the veteran poll worker who reminded El Rushbo that daytime voters are mostly unemployed & the elderly, with publik skool teachers coming in the late afternoon. Their party proclivities can be guessed at.

Early birds notwithstanding, it's only after the five o'clock whistle that the people with actual jobs start voting.

I have been exit polled. I told them to bite me. Clearly counted as a dem vote.

This feels like the morning of 9-11..I am watching helplessly as America is attacked from within and planes are going down across the country.

America.....you have no idea what you have asked for today.

"biased towards Dems 6-8+ percent"

Hasn't this been true for at least several elections, dating back at least to 1992???? It certainly happened in 2004, and I recall reading that exit polls were giving Bill Clinton (UGH) a 12 point margin over President Bush, Sr. in 1992 when the final margin turned out to be 7% (shouldn't even have been that if not for an extremely biased MSM). Any MSM that still relies upon such exit polls in 2006 is either extremely biased or exceptionally incompetent (or both). Which is it, FOXNews???

Smart move on their part.

Oh yeah... AFTER they call PA with 0% reporting, NJ with 1% reporting, MD with 1% reporing (and a republican lead), etc ALL for the dems... they decide to stop basing it on the exit polls.

Where did you hear them say this?? I just TiVo-ed back to shortly before your post time, and they said nothing of the sort.

That and the fact that they are STILL calling races based on exit polls, and think you heard something wrong.

(rolling eyes, shaking head in disbelief)

Just announced -- Fox is dumping exist polls after determining that they are biased towards Dems 6-8+ percent. Will use just raw vote totals for rest of election.

Kristol is liberal on social issues and he has a real hard time being in a party with Christians. So a part of him is conservative - anti-commie on economic issues and Israel, but he is a liberal when it comes to social issues and disliking Christians just like every other liberal in America. He is for gay rights, for example, and it embarasses him to be associated with a party against gay special rights. That is the gloating part of him and we should never forget this abut "neos."

I have to tell my secret.

While I have never been "exit polled" I have be phone polled a number of times, and every time but once, I have answered their questions the exact opposite of what I think.

Why? They are using classical and very valid AND sophisticate marketing technology to make decisions regarding OUR future based on how it effects their political future as opposed to what is the best option. I want to screw these people up. This technology is great if you are selling widgets and want a leg up on your competitor and I have no problem with that. But as a method of determining the fate of the nation, it is a horrendous technology that makes the sound bite more important than substance.

I want politicians to not trust any poll and to once again begin to think for themselves, right or wrong and to formulate informed opinions as opposed to "popular" opinions or doing a "Clinton" and sticking their finger in the wind every time their is a tough choice.

If you are a patriotic American, it is your duty to lie to political pollsters who allow their considerable skills to manipulate our future as opposed to allowing open debate and reasoned decisions. Anytime they call you, tell them the exact opposite of what you really think -- (or just make up some really screwy stuff and see if you can crash their computers.) If we can put the Greenbergs, Zobgy's and Rassumussin's of the world on the unemployment line, we may well get our Constitutional Republic back.

Understanding how the mathematics of sampling work, it does not take very many to really screw up their models. Please resist the temptation of telling some college kid working for minimum wage in a phone bank "What You Really Think". Instead, lie like hell to the kid and be "sincere" while you're doing it. You will be preforming a patriotic service. If you want to write to or talk to the politicians themselves, don't hold back -- let them have it. That will create even more dissonance when the pollsters tell them one thing, and you tell them the opposite. It will separate the wheat from the chaff.

I'm just hoping Pubbies learned the lesson of 2000 and didn't get off the line when the state was "called".

<< Fox Dumps Exit Polls (biased 8% toward Dems) >>

What took it so long?

Intelligent and/or objective observers dumped them years ago.

If not before, at least soon after their manipulation almost reversed the 2000 elections and/or grotesquely affected and or effected the outcomes of those of 2002 and 2004.

And FR absolutely, bless its soul, forbids their appearance here.
