I have to tell my secret.

While I have never been "exit polled" I have be phone polled a number of times, and every time but once, I have answered their questions the exact opposite of what I think.

Why? They are using classical and very valid AND sophisticate marketing technology to make decisions regarding OUR future based on how it effects their political future as opposed to what is the best option. I want to screw these people up. This technology is great if you are selling widgets and want a leg up on your competitor and I have no problem with that. But as a method of determining the fate of the nation, it is a horrendous technology that makes the sound bite more important than substance.

I want politicians to not trust any poll and to once again begin to think for themselves, right or wrong and to formulate informed opinions as opposed to "popular" opinions or doing a "Clinton" and sticking their finger in the wind every time their is a tough choice.

If you are a patriotic American, it is your duty to lie to political pollsters who allow their considerable skills to manipulate our future as opposed to allowing open debate and reasoned decisions. Anytime they call you, tell them the exact opposite of what you really think -- (or just make up some really screwy stuff and see if you can crash their computers.) If we can put the Greenbergs, Zobgy's and Rassumussin's of the world on the unemployment line, we may well get our Constitutional Republic back.

Understanding how the mathematics of sampling work, it does not take very many to really screw up their models. Please resist the temptation of telling some college kid working for minimum wage in a phone bank "What You Really Think". Instead, lie like hell to the kid and be "sincere" while you're doing it. You will be preforming a patriotic service. If you want to write to or talk to the politicians themselves, don't hold back -- let them have it. That will create even more dissonance when the pollsters tell them one thing, and you tell them the opposite. It will separate the wheat from the chaff.

Yeah, we're gonna take back our Republic by lying to pollsters. And Santorum WON!

Seems like even refusing to talk to them screws up their sample. Also, given the poor choices we have in candidates, talking down the republicans to the pollsters and then going ahead and voting for them is one of the only ways we have of holding their feet to the fire.
