Jasper County is where Joplin is located. It went 71 percent for Bush.

It is also the place where they ran out of ballots today.

On the one hand, I am disgusted with the giddy, brain-dead liberals who will be dancing in the streets over their victory. On the other hand, I have a hard time feeling bad about all the lame Republicans getting booted out the door.

The social right STAYED HOME and so the Republicans got their teeth kicked in.

There, all fixed.

***we eat our own and are always off message at least now nancy and harry will be the target.***

No... everything will still be the fault of Bush and the neo-cons.

It's now looking like the Dims might get a 49-49-2 (Lieberman and Sanders) majority in the Senate, too.

He voted for cloture which allowed the Alito vote, and he then voted against Alito's confirmation. But he was a reliable vote for cloture...

That's so true. I have family that believe what they hear. They can't comprehend that it's propaganda. I was really hoping that it would be a Republican landslide. It's hard to believe how so many voted. Oh well...God has a plan and is in control. So many things have been thrown at this President. I figure he will overcome this too.

In 2000 GWB was always talking about the "media filter". He seems to have forgotten that lesson.

Oh, I'm more than READY for it; it is YOU who aren't!

But, since this is the FIRST election night that I can't stay up as long as I please ( I actually do have to log off about now ), I'll teach you a history lesson at a later date.

"I also think this was a sign when a lot of GOP members were afraid to touch Social Security when Bush tried to make it an issue."

The beating we took over Social Security reform should have told us all what was coming.
Rhetoric matters far more than substance when you're dealing with a Media society, and the vast majority of them are not on your side.

There was no single idea, no "Slogan" that we could get behind, tell our friends about, and push forward in a way that the sheeple would understand.

Instead, we were ALWAYS on the Defensive, as the Lib/Dems, Communists, and thier willing allies in the media, pushed slgan and lie, after slogan and lie down our throats...

McConnell will most likely be the Leader. He is actually one feisty dude. Infinitely better than Lott.

Thank you for a ray of sunshine on a dark night ;-)

Ditto. The GOP needs to earn our support. The 1994 Revolution degenerated into the 2005 circus. So now we need a new revolution.

Is that such a bad thing?

If anything, I lay more blame at the feet of those here who repeatedly tell newcomers who disagree with the:

A)You're a commie, socialist demorat
B)Maybe you'd be more welcome at DU
C)You sure don't sound like a conservative.

I've counted more than 60 instances in just the last few months of people telling folks to go to DU. What's more, the vast majority of these folks seemed decidedly undecided.
