All right, folks. Guess I have to do it again around here and hand out the chill pills.
1) It is absolutely clear to me that we have won this. We will keep the Senate, and I'm 90% sure we keep the House. We'll probably gain a seat, maybe two in the Senate.
2) I know this from the turnout numbers, just as I did in 2004. The fact is, forget Indies. They don't vote in high numbers. It's all about the two parties, and who gets out their base.
We have done that today beyond my wildest expectations. The info we have from the Hotline on turnout is overwhelming, and in virtually every key state, we have exceeded Dem turnout by 2, 3, 4, or 6%.
As I predicted, we are seeing a Dem UNDERVOTE. They are underperforming, esp. in key states such as OH. However, they are underperforming far worse than even I dreamed. We are looking at 20% in Cuyahoga County! Brown and Strickland couldn't get elected dog catcher with that level of support.
SO HERE IS WHAT TO EXPECT: THE MEDIA IDIOTS HAVE THEIR TEMPLATES. THEY WILL BE VERY SLOW TO COME AROUND. IT WILL BE A LONG NIGHT, BECAUSE THEY WON'T BELIEVE THEIR EYES.
They may even "call" a few House races, maybe a Senate race, based on some ridiculously low "exit poll" and have to recant later. Be patient. The turnout numbers suggest we absolutely cannot lose.
There'll be snowcone stands in Hell before GW will pull out of Iraq.
And if the Dims cut off funding their stint in the majority will be exactly two years!
Correct. I lay this entirely at the feet of the Republicans for not clearly explaining what they're doing, but mostly at the Democrats for taking disgraceful political opportunism, and the MSM for becoming cheerleaders and gleefully abandoning any pretense at objectivity.
MY "weight of the world?" LOL. That seems like a lifetime ago. We aren't that country now. We are becoming France.
..that's Who I was talking about--in the end it will be ok...
Hey, could you shut the heck up? You made your point several hundred posts ago, and I'm not even halfway through the thread. Stop being boorish and get in your teasing tomorrow if he's wrong.
Yes, I'm rather pissed at him for that. I hope he has some chance at bigger and better.
Maybe he can run for Senate when Voinovich retires?
This thread is going too fast for me to keep up with anyway. I didn't realize I was two pages behind until after I had posted that. LOL
Boy was I wrong. Pile it on, guys. I deserve it. I have the credibility of Carville. Now, feel free to post the famous pic with the trash basket on his head, cause that's me.
I never thought we could turn out 6% MORE Republicans than 2002 and have them vote Dem!
How does that explain Ohio? Our governor doesn't control US foreign policy.
Disagree. W can counter punch the Dims to a fare-the-well now.
Remember, we're winning on the ground in Iraq and soon we'll capture Bin Laden! Then, W is a hero!!!
I believe the clinton congress lost 54 seats during his year 6.
Early stuff, but EVERY ONE of the initiatives for "big government" in OH is passing. That tells you a lot. People want to get all they can, can all they get, and sit on their cans.
Actually, that was year two.
I have just one question. Are all absentee ballots counted yet......or are the results by persentages?
There is no all-encompassing explanation for all races. All things being equal, it's a toss-up who is going to win a GOVERNOR'S race, based on local issues as opposed to the national mood that infects representation in D.C. You might as well be asking how my explanation explains the box office take of a movie this weekend--I'm talking about the Congress.
Said Freeper is some sort of drooling moron.
But they don't realize that the government will snatch that can out from under them to give them to other people.
I'm tired as it's been a long day. As luck would have it, I happened to read this today. I wish this was published two years ago and every American citizen had to read it before voting. It frames the argument well. I know it is too long to read tonight, but please bookmark this link. It is going to come true in our time. Wishing the boogeyman would go away does not make it happen. We, as Americans, are used to our stories (and our wars) being rapped up in the 2 hours alloted for a movie.
