I don't think its over yet. There is still San Berdu, Orange, San Diego, etc. There aren't that many voters in Monterey county.

It's very hard to believe Tom's internals could be so very far off. I haven't give up yet.

I'm greatly disturbed to discover I may well have been too optimistic about our chances in CA. It's simply chilling.

There's still over a million votes left to count in LA county though...

Don't fret the apparent gap that just opened for Garamendi. Santa Cruz just jumped into the fray reporting about 70% of their precincts in one lump sum. We were not expecting Santa Cruz anyway.

Any absentee ballot dropped off today will not be included in count till the signature is checked. Some of these really close votes could take a few days. The are allowed 28.

I will cross my fingers and hope for the best. Today (now that it is past midnight) is my 3rd wedding anniversary and I have a busy day ahead with the missus. So I will be saying good night to you all.

We may have had a temporary setback this election, but life's not all bad. After all I have had 3 good years with my wife and am looking to many, many more!

I'm sure all of you are blessed in similar ways!

Good Night to all!

NJ... look at the numbers when this is all over. The conservative candidates were starved of money by the party. They were shunned by the "leader" of the party--publicly. Don't be so surprised. Look at the energy that went into supporting the bonds (and undermining any opposition). Where there is a will, there is a way. Unfortunately, our own party "leaders" have chosen a much different path for the State, one that will continue big spending and cronyism and has no problem leveraging every dang asset to put us into megadebt.

LA County is killing Tom. We will see how bad it gets after that county is done with and the other conservative strongholds start to come in.

The reason Arnold bucked the tide is he successfully painted himself as anti-Bush liberal with a R beside his name. Other Republicans have not benefitted from his coattails - which appear to be non-existent.

San Bernardino is still at 0% and San Diego is still under 50. Hopefully those will serve to counter Los Angeles.

San Bernardino numbers....

McClintock 98,308
Garamendi 76,160

this is w/ all precincts in - straight from the S.B. county website. I don't think a 22,000 advantage is going to help much vs. LA County :o(.

Those are the percentage vote breakdowns of the votes counted thus far--not the totals.
They will change as more votes are counted.
See the status chart of precincts reporting that I just posted.
