too lazy to read the whole thing.
what do they base these on? I've never been called. are they just guessing? or going down to the mall or what ?
No question that
a) liberal entities like Pew Research are pulling back their estimates in line with reality as the election approaches, to avoid completely discrediting themselves.
b) As one freeper said, Kerry's is the gaffe that keeps on gaffing. It reminds people what Democrats really represent.
Vote early and often. (sorry, forgot only Dems get to vote often). Ah...em, vote early.
It's all very well and good to bitch about the Republicans in the Summertime and early Fall. But now it is time to walk into the voting booth and pull the lever. This returning to normalcy of the generic ballot is very, very good news. It shows that people have started to look at whom they are going to vote for, and just can't pull a lever for the (D), even if they are PO'ed at the President.
My prediction is that there are still a lot of people lying to the pollsters. The majority of votes cast on Tuesday will be for Republicans. How that thrashes out in the numbers is anybody's guess, but I am still predicting a gain of 2 and 4 in the Senate and House, respectively.
What is the basis for comparison here? That they're both saying a wrong thing?
GO CONSERVATIVES!!!!
Meanwhile, I'm praying for a lot of snow, sleet, rain, thunderstorms, wind, and broken glass on Tuesday.
Just like all the rest of the pollsters .. the election is right around the corner and if they are not more in line with the actual election - they will lose their credibility.
The numbers they've been using all along have been phoney and it's only now that they have had to make a statistical correction. Lying, cheating .. no problem for these people.
"Oh, by the way, the Post was kind enough to give us a bit of history on their generic ballot preference question:
Dem Rep Other Neither
cand. cand. (vol.) (vol.)
11/6/94 RV 47 42 5 2
10/31/94 RV 48 44 4 1
Yes, on November 6, 1994, among registered voters, ABC News/Washington Post had the Democrats ahead on the generic ballot, 47 percent to 42. So we know just how valuable an indicator it is."

Prior to election: 5% Dem lead in 1994 and 6% Dem lead in 2006. 1994 was 54-seat swing from Dem to GOP. I'd say things in 2006 aren't looking too bad.
Get out and vote!!!
He's already been sentenced to DEATH, any further trials are moot and we are again reminded of why our troops are in Iraq - depose Saddam (or REGIME CHANGE as it was referred to when Clinton adopted it as policy, but did nothing more than lip service). DUmocrats wanted the election to be about Iraq, and so it is.
1. Jean-Fraud Kerry infers that soldiers in Iraq are dumb.
2. Soldiers respond
3. NYT admits Saddam had nuke program.
4. Families of fallen visit Iraq (no quagmire)
5. Saddam sentenced (death by hanging)
News cycle seems to be working for GOP advantage thus far. DUmocrats yesterday counter with "Rusmsfeld must resign" and "recruiters caugh lying" stories. Wow. That's new....NOT!
In addition to Saddam sentencing, Fox will be running OBSESSION - THE MOVIE, and we get to see the face of the enemy again. Yesterday, Fox is also showed "waterboarding" (Steve Harrigan, a Fox reporter volunteered to show how it is done).
DUmocrats come out of hiding, but have NOTHING to give anyone a reason to trust them with power. They've even invited BJ and Al to speak for them - kiss of death.
I don't know what Monday brings, but I've got a good idea about the day after.
bump for later read.
Well w/in the Margin of Bias! A Red Tide is Approaching!
Pray for W and The Election
I just told my husband this morning that if the election was a week from Tuesday, I think Republicans would safely keep the majority. The tide is turning slowly and the Saddam verdict is good news; I'm just not sure if there's time between this turning tide and the verdict for Tuesday's results to help them keep majority.
Let me know if I'm wrong - would love to be!
