SoldierDad just received a call that his father was killed in a motorcycle accident today. The accident happened near Tulare, CA. He was on his way to a rally in Tulare and for unknown reasons went off the road. No other vehicles were apparently involved. He died of head injuries at the hospital after failed attempts to revive him. As some of you may know, SoldierDad was organizing a homecoming celebration for his son, PFC Robert, who is to arrive home on leave from Iraq on Monday. Please pray for SoldierDad and his family as they mourn this beloved family member.
The Lord be with him.
Heartfelt Prayers from northern California for SoldierDad and his entire family.
I am so sorry to hear about your father, and I am so glad that your son is home with you. You and your family are in my prayers daily and I pray that God gives you strength as I know you have many tough days ahead.
God Bless you!

Prayers and thoughts for SoldierDad and his family.
This happened to my son last month. Circumstances are described in just the same way. My prayers are with you, SoldierDad and family. I'm so very sorry.
Feel free to come here and reminisce about your dad.
Thanks Shimmer. I may take you up on that. Right now things are still too new for me.
When you say the same thing happened to your son, are you meaning that he was lost in an accident?
In a motorcycle accident. Killed going around a curve, single vehicle (motorcycle) accident, blunt trauma to the head. Just like your dad. (except i don't know about the curve) My son wasn't wearing a helmet, that would have no doubt saved his life.
;o
I'm so sorry to hear that. I can't imagine facing the loss of a child in such an accident. In my dad's accident, he was on a straight road that he's driven on hundreds of times over the past 12 years. He was wearing his helmet, but with an open face. The helmet didn't make any difference for him. No skid marks, no other vehicles involved, he didn't hit anything. No autopsy was performed, so we don't know if he had some kind of medical issue that resulted in the accident. A heart attack or stroke would answer much, but it's too late to find out now.
I will keep you in my prayers for your loss.
You know, the blow was almost unbearable. My first born. My son. But i also know that the loss of a parent is too, my dad died 28 years ago. I still cry sometimes.
We'll stand with you and we'll listen when/if you want to just talk (write) I was able to get through it with the love and support of others. Notably, one who understood the pain of losing a child, but also friends and family who would just hold me when i cried. And sometimes that will happen.
God bless,
s.
I didn't realize your father had an accident. I didn't even know him but it makes me feel really sad for all of you. God bless you, dear SoldierDad and your family, too.
May the Almighty God bless you and keep you, may He cause his face to shine upon you and give you peace. Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.
I send my thanks to you for your kind words and prayers. I've not been on FR for several days now as my youngest son has been home on leave from Iraq, and will be leaving in the morning for his return trip.
P.S. You can put your son on a permanent prayer list at Adopt a Troop.
Thank you again. I've had my son put on the prayer list at Adopt a Troop.
