SoldierDad just received a call that his father was killed in a motorcycle accident today. The accident happened near Tulare, CA. He was on his way to a rally in Tulare and for unknown reasons went off the road. No other vehicles were apparently involved. He died of head injuries at the hospital after failed attempts to revive him. As some of you may know, SoldierDad was organizing a homecoming celebration for his son, PFC Robert, who is to arrive home on leave from Iraq on Monday. Please pray for SoldierDad and his family as they mourn this beloved family member.

All mankind is of one author,
and is one volume;
When one man dies,
one chapter is not torn out of the book,
but translated into a better language;
and every chapter must be so translated;
God employs several translators;
some pieces are translated by age,
some by sickness,
some by war,
some by justice;
but God's hand is in every translation,
and His hand shall bind up
all our scattered leaves again
for that library where every book
shall lie open to one another.
--John Donne

Prayers Up!
Today is the homecoming day for SoldierDad's son, Robert. Please keep this family in your prayers during this time of sorrow mixed with joy over the Lord's safekeeping of Robert.
Prayers for the family............
I'd like to update all of you on Robert's homecoming. He called just a short time ago and is at the Dallas Airport. He has a layover there before the last leg of his flight home. His flight home continues to be due in at 6:00pm tonight. Talking to him was very hard as I struggle with being excited about his coming home, but full of grief at having to tell him of his grandfather's death when we get him home.
I once again wish to express my greatest appreciation for the outpouring of support, love, and prayers from all of you here at FR. You are all in my thoughts and prayers too.
SoldierDad
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Why gladness is often mixed with sadness, we may never know, but God gives us strenth to endure.
My prayers extended for you and your family in this time of great joy during your son's homecoming and in this time of grief over your Father's passing.
God Bless and comfort you during this stressful time. Have faith in the knowledge that God is Always Present.
I know your heart is heavy with grief, Soldier Dad. It's only natural; and, at the same time, you have the joyous anticipation of reunion with your son. Both feelings are gifts from God. He giveth and He taketh away.
Remember that The Lord is with you, and so are we, to help carry the burden.
