Man that brings back memories. My funniest memory was living at this apartment complex where two gay bikers lived. They would annoy the entire complex with cat fights. One morning one got mad at the other and drove his Harley into the swimming pool. You can't pay money to see that kind of entertainment!

Ahh, to be poor and in college.

Well said. Flags was a bunch of PC dribble.

On the election, I've been as mad as anyone at Bush and the GOP. I've battled and fought and hurled the Bushbot term around. But that's not what we do now, and you notice how little fighting and feuding between our people is taking place on FR. We know who the enemy is.

Democrats are ignorant and hypocritical supporters of every vile, wicked, and treacherous nostrum under the sun. They support the Clintons, Ted Kennedy, Harry Reid, William Jefferson, Barney Frank and the whole lot of venomous, left wing reptiles while lapping up the Pavlovian bilge repeated through their media wind chambers. They are the same people cutting you off in traffic with the eight Democrat bumper stickers on the back of their cars.

At their worst, Bush and the Rino's are not the enemies of everything we believe in. The Democrats will soil this nation, surrender in Iraq and set our movement back for a decade. I'm even going to vote for Munsil, the worthless bum foisted upon us here in Arizona to insure Napolitano's re-election. He reminds me of the corpses we used to nominate when Bruce Babbitt was governor.

We all know what we have to do. Let's ride.

In 2004 the polls showed we would lose from 3 to 19 seats. We gained 3 in the House and 4 in the Senate.

Yes, the pollsters' records are so bad that it is hard to believe that anyone pays attention to them --- I remember back when economists' projections were quoted widely in the popular media, and how for many years no one pointed out that these widely-quoted economists had an abysmal record.

Based on the pollsters' individual records, none of them are worth paying the least attention to, much less paying them cash money.

Not a single one of them can point to accurate results that correspond to ballot results over several election cycles.

They also report interim results that are highly suspect: all of the pollsters regularly report wild swings in polling that are extremely unlikely to occur in reality as frequently as these swings are reported.

And there's this from Jim Geraghty (TKS) at NRO:

Is the Needle Moving a Bit in OHIO?!

...Did this race move from double digits to single digits in the past week? Again, I don't want to get false hopes up, but there seems to have been some movement in the past week. And I'm not sure there's been a particular event in this race that would have moved them. So arguably - again, we're trying to read runes in the dark here - there's something to suggest some movement in the Republican direction, and it's broad, not candidate based. Either disgruntled Republicans coming back into the fold, or independents looking at the Democrats and having second thoughts, or both. Or maybe Kerry effect.

Again - might not be enough to swing this race, but I think it's one more tidbit of evidence for a shift in these closing days.

I agree with the author. Not because I know anything special about any polls. I don't. But I think as election day draws closer, people are getting serious, and enough of them deep down know that the Democrats are NOT what this country needs during this particular war.

I took a look at your website, and found a few interesting things. It would appear that most of the polls were done a couple of days ago, before Kerry had his Dean moment. I really doubt that the Dems are going to take the Senate.

Also they are projecting that the House will go 240 (D) to 195 (R). That is just wishful thinking on the Democrat side. I think it MAY be possible that Dems will win the House, but maybe by a margin of 5 seats. I really doubt that they are going to take the Senate.

Also I noticed the poll question about who would you rather see control Congress. 85% want to see the Dems, 10% want to see the Reps., and 5% want a divided Congress.

I don't know the history of this website, but I think they may be a little agenda driven.

Well, I am not so sure.

1. The Only Real Poll is on Election Day

2. While not Optimistic about the results, I proudly already mailed in my absentee Ballot for Wisconsin in mid-October, so my lack of optimism in no means affected my voting.

3. Vote, make me a believer

From your mouth to God's ears. My only concerns are that: (1) the media has beaten down the spirits of the Republicans to the point of "why bother", (2) Republican wins, if any, will be thin; and, (3) either way, the lawyers are going to be fighting results, fraud, etc., in the courts for weeks. We expected 2004 to be a repeat of 2000; however, this may be the election that makes 2000 look like a dry run.

You will not see anything done about Democrat Voter Fraud until the PEOPLE in those Dem-Run Areas rise up and throw the bums out by margins large enough to overcome the Fraud Factor....

This year's polls were NEVER designed to be TRUTHFUL, they couldn't be with Oversampling margins as high as 16%!

They were designed to DRIVE the NEWS CYCLE, and keep the Dem Base in the game, and donating...

You don't think those Limos and Private Jets are FREE, do ya?

'Because of that terrible George W. Bush.' Without missing a beat I said 'Oh. I didn't realize he was running this year.' The giggling of all of those around me probably made it sting a little more too.

I use that same argument against people who are so anti Bush. I've asked several people why they are voting against a Republican, and their response is "I can't stand Bush" or something similar. Then, I'll tell them that Bush isn't running for anything. They seem to be very embarrassed by their, especially when others are present.

This is not Repubclican year - "Flags of Our Fathers" is a Box Office Bomb.

I'm not sure I understand your premise. The word on "Flags of Our Fathers" was that it was sympathetic to the plight of the Japanese side during that episode of the war. Rumor had it that Eastwood wanted to present a balanced perspective. That killed much of the potential audience before it was ever released because most people do not want to entertain a sympathetic side for our our enemies.

Americans in general want strongly defined lines between good and evil. We like black and white. The liberals attempt to obfuscate the line between good and evil. That's why a lot of these movies bomb. Americans don't think there should be moral equivelency between us and the enemy. In truth, they are diametrically opposed. The rats would have us believe they are the same.

I think the fact that "Flags of Our Fathers" bombed is a good sign based on this premise. Still, I'd like to hear more on why you think the opposite.

FRegards, Bob

Laura Bush called ME yesterday. ;-)

I usually hang up on those automated calls, but I wanted to hear if her recording was specific to Oklahoma races. It wasn't.
