WASHINGTON, Nov. 1, 2006 — Karl Rove, President Bush's top advisor, talked to ABC News' Ann Compton about the remarks Sen. John Kerry says were a botched joke about the president, and about Bush's future.
Here is a transcript of the conversation:
COMPTON: Senator John Kerry has made a statement about Iraq. Do you take him at his word that he was talking about the president and not the troops?
ROVE: I take him at his word when he insulted America's fighting forces. This is a habit that he's had over the years. He did it when he came back from Vietnam and there's no way that an individual looking at what he said, which is available on the Internet. Go on and look at yourself. Any American can. This guy was insulting America's troops by suggesting that if you were stupid you went to Iraq.
COMPTON: But he says it was a botched joke about the president?
ROVE: Then he ought to apologize for those Americans fighting on our behalf who thought it was an insult on them. I saw a number of them on the television this morning and it was very clear they took it as a personal insult. He ought to apologize to them and he cannot bring himself to do so this. This is his sort of like his elitist attitude about this. When he came back from Vietnam he slandered his comrades in arms from Vietnam in saying that in the mode of Genghis Khan they raped and pillaged their way across Vietnam. Now, he's suggesting only stupid people are willing to volunteer to fight in our military and go into harm's way in Iraq.

Beautiful! And on ABC, no less. I think Drudge has turned the trick. Either the networks have to get on board this firestorm, or they will be seen as irrelevant by more people than they can afford to offend.
The same thing happened with Dan Rather. It doesn't get this far very often, but it sure has this time. It couldn't happen at a better time, or to a more suitable goat than kerry.
Who needs an october surprise with turds like skerry...
Was it not (as you have touted thousands of times) because you felt it was honorable to “do your patriotic duty?”
Was it, as we have all suspected, only self-surving to identify yourself more closely with John Kennedy and advance your wanna-be obsession/career? But you were too scared to fight, so you shot yourself in the foot. Hmmm, is that the same one you just put in your mouth?

I like that Rove and other republicans call a spade a spade...you'll not see them spinning what they've said as skerry is now doing...he is nothing but a big fat turd...

Today it showed the actual stats on education of troops versus general population on one channel..Fox I believe..Our troops are much better educated!
Makes me laugh everytime I see it...Send it to Hannity hell enjoy the laugh.
He volunteered for the Navy because he was likely to be drafted, and didn't want to end up in the infantry.
