Statement of Senator John Kerry (NEW JOHN KERRY PRESS RELEASE)
John "STUPID" Kerry ^
| 11/1/06
Posted on 11/01/2006 1:28:21 PM PST by areafiftyone
As a combat veteran, I want to make it clear to anyone in uniform and to their loved ones: my poorly stated joke at a rally was not about, and never intended to refer to any troop.
I sincerely regret that my words were misinterpreted to wrongly imply anything negative about those in uniform, and I personally apologize to any service member, family member, or American who was offended.
It is clear the Republican Party would rather talk about anything but their failed security policy. I dont want my verbal slip to be a diversion from the real issues. I will continue to fight for a change of course to provide real security for our country, and a winning strategy for our troops.

"As a combat veteran"
When was the Combat War? I thought he was in Vietnam? No wonder nobody knows about his military service.

I sincerely regret that my words were misinterpreted... what he means:
I sincerely regret that you are too stupid, so my words were misinterpreted...

THE WORDS YOU SAID WERE THE WORDS YOU SAID. NOBODY MISINTERPRETED THEM.
Thank GOD we live in the modern world of video cameras, the Internet and tape recorders. He probably would have gotten away with it had it not been for the audio and video proof staring him in the face.

Hee Hee! He said he wasn't going to apologize to anyone! Guess he had to eat crow. Of course, he is using it as an occasion to bash the President, so it isn't sincere in the least!

I was wrong, but I am right?
That's an apology? "If you took it the wrong way [i.e., if you are so unsophisticated that you took it the wrong way], I'm sorry?"
How about: "I'm sorry I said things that made it look like I was saying bad things about military service?"
And to say it on camera, instead of getting some staffer to write it up for him? And say it without trying to justify the fact that his foot is in his mouth/

Here is my note to the "honorable" Senator.
"I read your so-called apology. Interesting that you still do not take responsibility for your own words. You seem to be blaming your critics for interpreting the plain meaning of your words instead of reading your mind. You then go on to again blame the Bush administration for your problems in this issue when your injuries are as self afflicted as some of the wounds for which you got a Purple Heart. Basically your apology is pathetic and you really ought to resign."

I would never have allowed my four-year-old get by with this type of non-apology. Too bad his parents were so easy on him.

I betcha Kerry did NOT write that...at all...
Maybe he contributed to the "I am a veteran" part...and the last part about how he is gonna change things....
But the other parts?? Nah..a scriptwriter wrote it..
Chicken S. Kerry...hiding under the bed....just putting out a memo...instead of beating his chest like he did yesterday.

kerry isn't the only Demorat to badmouth our Troops. Hannity is having Harold Ford JUNIOR on his show this evening because JUNIOR has said kerry should appoligize. BUT JUNIOR has a problem of his own badmouthing our Troops himself. He thinks they are
OIL COPS. He thinks we should GROW our way out of dependence on ME oil. I can't find Hannity's FNC email addy.
Project Vote Smart on special interest groups.
They lowered the gas prices right before the election...," Ford said. "When I get to the U.S Senate, I'll represent you, not Exxon."

OUR TROOPS ARE OIL COPS?????Didn't know Harold Ford said that. I'm glad Hannity is bringing that up. That remark from Ford kinda escaped the front page news didn't it?
