Let's go to the videotape. For the ten-second clip on YouTube, he looks down at his notes from seconds 6-8, just before the "punch" line. Is he saying he can't read or he can't remember something for two seconds?

Where's the shovel.....Kerry is digging and digging and digging........

That wasn't an apology. That was an even BIGGER INSULT--as it was patronizing and demeaning since he STILL did not repudiate and apologize for what HE characterized as a mistake.
Once again (going back to Vietnam), that proves his disdain and contempt for the military.
Maybe he should ask the hero and God of the Democratic Party, Bill Clinton, to speak up and DEFINE and TRANSLATE what Kerry really said and meant.

"Kerry's office said the senator had misread his prepared remarks. They said he had intended to say, "Do you know where you end up if you don't study, if you aren't smart, if you're intellectually lazy? You end up getting us stuck in a war in Iraq. Just ask President Bush."
These remarks were hurriedly "prepared" after he made his gaffe.

"They said he had intended to say, "Do you know where you end up if you don't study, if you aren't smart, if you're intellectually lazy? You end up getting us stuck in a war in Iraq. Just ask President Bush."Sell it elsewhere; not buying. He said exactly what he meant to say.

I'm here to effin' amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny? No, no, I don't know... you said it. How do I know? You said I'm funny. Ahem...
"Let me make it crystal clear, as crystal clear as I know how. I apologize to no one for my criticism of the president and of his broken policy. If anyone owes our troops in the fields an apology, it is the president and his failed team and a Republican majority in the Congress that has been willing to stamp rubberstamp policies that have done injury to our troops and to their families."

He apologized for supposedly messing up a joke. He in no way apologized to the people in uniform and to the families who have sacrificed on behalf of this country and freedom!!

Of course, I'm sorry about a botched joke." Yeah, I'll bet you are, Kerry. But not for the reasons you should be.
Besides, I'm not buying the "botched joke" crap. Your true colors came out (again) and what you're sorry about is the fervor it has caused.
Keep talking, Kerry. Just keep on talking. We'll laugh at your "botched" jokes all the way to the polls.

Wait until Rush comes on and baits him. He'll be releasing a nasty statement insulting Rush and calling him a 'doughnut eater' by the end of the day. He can't help himself.

Nor is it a botched joke.
