Very sad burns are terrible to treat. He had less than a 5 percent chance. They probably kept him totally sedated and maybe to the point of being on a ventilator. It is unbearable pain. I pray for him and his family. Horrible.

Unimaginable, isn't it? But another FReeper explained that they go in and out of numbness. He was on many medications and a ventilator. As much as he wanted to stay, he had to go...

Hubby said yes, he was on a respirator.
May he rest in peace. He actually lived a few days longer than I expected him to.

Damn. It's not surprising given the extent of his burns but very sad just the same.
RIP Pablo Cerda.
Earlier this week I heard an interview with a woman who three of the deceased CDF firefighters had helped deliver her baby on a roadside about a year ago. Seems they were great men.
