Bush to respond to Kerry @5PM EST.

You've got style, CheneyChick!
Kerry's words were CLEARLY intended to pander to his audience of once and future Dem voters in the University by flattering them and their incipient elitism with his own. They could NOT have been meant to refer to Bush, because IIRC, Bush did better at the University than did Kerry, THEREFORE, as leader of the Iraq War, he could not get "stuck" in Iraq by dint of laziness, bad grades, not "doing well". Kerry leaves himself just enough rhetorical wiggle-room for these late-breaking disclaimers: he was running it up the flagpole, and when too few people saluted it, he claimed to be "misinterpreted". What a freakin' WEASEL!
What an odd statement for a FReeper to make.
He knew exactly what he was saying, from his elitist perch atop the RICH mansions that his wife Thareeza owns, he thinks anyone in that goes in the military is too dumb to get a real job. Deal with it, he meant it!
I respect your ability to stand up for yourself but I think it's appropriate for our troops, currently in harms way, to hear their CIC stand up for them too.
Left to his own devices this story might be dead already. But then he had that performance at his news conference. Given half a chance Kerry could make this thing last till election day. But now it'll be over by the weekend.

For 23 years I was one of those troops, bucko. And I don't need the president to stand up for me or to point out how insulting Kerry's remarks were, I can do that very well on my own. And I think I am the one seeing clearly. Nothing is more damaging to your enemy than self inflicted damage. We should be sitting back and letting him inflict some more.
Only problem is the Democrat Media is going to bury the whole thing. If Bush responds, they can't get by with it. By the way thank you for being one of our magnificent troops.
Fox activated their live newslink:
Thanks!
"As Commander in Chief, I'm awarding Senator Kerry another medal for a self-inflicted wound!".
$10 says Skarry doesn't show up with Casey. BTW where are they suppose to show up together?
Excerpt of the President's Remarks at Georgia Victory 2006 Rally

MEDIA ADVISORY, Oct. 31 /Christian Newswire/ -- The following text is an excerpt of the President's Remarks at Georgia Victory 2006 Rally:
As Prepared for Delivery
I know there are Democrats and Independents in places like Georgia who do not share the views of the Democrat leadership in Washington. You may not agree with Republicans on every issue but you should also realize that what voting Democrat in this election would mean for the war on terror. When you vote next Tuesday, your vote will determine more than who is your local Congressman it will also determine which partys leadership will set the agenda on Capitol Hill. A vote to send a Democrat to Congress is a vote for the liberal Democrat leadership in Washington.
A vote to send a Democrat to Congress is a vote to make the Senate Majority leader a man who bragged about killing the Patriot Act.
A vote to send a Democrat to Congress is a vote to make the Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee a man who said the world would be better off if Saddam Hussein were still in power.
A vote to send a Democrat to Congress is a vote to make the Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee a man who has suggested cutting off funds for our troops on the battlefield.
And a vote to send a Democrat to Congress is a vote to make the Speaker of the House the person third in line for the Presidency a woman who said that capturing Osama bin Laden would not make America any safer.
If you want leaders in the United States Congress who will do what it takes to defend America and keep our country safe, then vote for Mac Collins and the Republicans on November 7th.
.....I cannot tell you how proud I am to be the Commander-in-Chief of such incredibly brave men and women who have volunteered to wear the uniform of the United States. And even in the midst of a heated campaign season, there are still some things we should all be able to agree on and one of the most important is that every one of our troops deserves our gratitude and respect. Yesterday Democrat Senator John Kerry was speaking to a group of young people in California, and gave them this advice, quote: You know education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you dont you get stuck in Iraq.
The Senators suggestion that the men and women of our military are somehow uneducated is insulting and shameful. Our troops did not enlist because they did not study hard in school or do their homework. The men and women who serve in our all-volunteer Armed Forces are plenty smart and are serving because they are patriots and Senator Kerry owes them an apology.
Whatever party you belong to, whatever you think about the war in Iraq, we should all agree that our troops deserve our unwavering support. And when it comes to supporting our men and women in uniform, I dont have any doubt where Mac Collins is going to land. He is a strong supporter of the military. And he knows what I know: Any time you have American troops in harms way, they have the right to expect the full support of the American government.
I missed all the good stuff today (Snow's Presser, Kerry's stupid remarks), but I'm NOT going to miss this! :-D
the weekend is fine, the election is tuesday, if we can get 3-4 days of offense out of this - that's fine. alot of people make of their minds this week.
Brutal.
This is a very important statement from the President at 5pm. I hope that he fully realizes the chance that te disgraceful Effin Kerry has given him to differentiate the thinking of the two major parties regarding our military men and women.
This is a gift-- diving Providence-- and Bush must make the most of this occasion...
I haven't seen it on YouTube yet. They have the video of yesterday's comments but not today's presser.
But if you go to www.foxnews.com, you can watch the video there.
Wouldn't it be great if Bush come out and jokingly announce:
"As Commander in Chief, I'm awarding Senator Kerry another medal for a self-inflicted wound!".
