Broward Supervisor of Elections spokeswoman Mary Cooney said it's not uncommon for screens on heavily used machines to slip out of sync, making votes register incorrectly. Poll workers are trained to recalibrate them on the spot -- essentially, to realign the video screen with the electronics inside. The 15-step process is outlined in the poll-workers manual.

This would be funny if it weren't so serious.

Why are the voting problems in Florida always in the democrat strongholds of Broward and Palm Beach counties.

Then fix the machine and get the next person in there to vote. There is no reason why people should have problems voting. It is a human right in America. Get them fixed and move on!!!!
To: foxfield
Ah gee, the Dems are getting ready in case it's not the blow out they thought.

This would be funny if it weren't so serious. Calibrations problems hah! Everyone knows this is an evil plot by Karl Rove to flip votes from Democrat to GOP. Watch Katherine Harris win by 20 points!

I've worked with computer systems for 25 years. My BS meter is twitching.
Early voting always favors Republicans. I am certain they wouldn't hard restart these machines and zero the ballot counts to erase this edge.
Mighty fishy indeed.

This article indicates a tremendous lack of understanding of the technology of e-voting on the part of election officials, reporters, and voters. So much so that e-voting should be banned.

E-voting is not ready for primt time. Go with mark-sense ballots used without problems in other counties in the state.

Early voting always favors Republicans.
...and that's because the Dems are behind the curtain, rigging the 'puters, until early voting is over. They then have Nov. 4-7 to get in the dead votes...and/or the illegals...

"Could be that you have so many old folks down there who get confused easily due to the heat and humidity!" These "poor confused voting old folks" are the ones who can, and do, with ZERO help, OPERATE AND DOMINATE any video gambling machine in Florida, and anywhere on planet Earth, that would ever cross their paths......
.....except when they come across one of those those DARN "video" voting machines....
.....go figure....

Pretty biased reporting. The only problems seem to occur when trying to vote democrats...never happens when voting republican!?
And I have never heard of a screen 'slip'?

these phony voting machine problems always happen in dnc stronghold like Broward county which is 80 % dem. the dem election supervisor is a moron that has been relieved of her job numerous times and a judge has put her back in job ! the evil congressman from that area is A Hasting , the famous disbarred federal judge! So you have the brain dead and probably many actually dead voting or also voting in NYC too putting these fools and crooks in charge . Dems are just Sheep !
