You should be telling the Connecticut RINOs to vote for the candidate, Alan Schlesinger, from their own party instead of Socialist Democrat Joe Lieberman.

Are you a disgruntled Conservative?

You bet I am.

Am I dumb enough to stay home or vote anything but straight Republican on November 7?

NO, NO, a thousand times NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

I find much more to vote for Republicans than to vote against them, or even deny them my vote. I'm happy for the greatly lowered tax burden, original intent jurists, and a foreign policy which faces the challenges of national security head on, rather than sticking their head in the sand.

I think President Bush ranks up with the greatest US presidents, and we are lucky to have him.

Oh, stop it. Do you think anyone here on Free Republic won't vote what they know to be the best candidate? Surely, all on here will try to vote.

I'm going to vote for the most conservative person who has a real opportunity to win. If that is a Democrat, so be it.

I think us GOPers are savvy and will vote the right way. My concern is the independents. The normally sit out a mid-term election, but if the media has them rilled up my fear is they will decide to vote and vote the wrong direction for this country.

Too many people still don't get it, you cannot be independent in this day and age and people need to get off the fence and declare themselves and support our country.

Ok, I see your point. But now I want you to read mine!

You wouldn't have to be ranting and raving like this if you and all the "Republicans" would quit taking the conservative community (oh how I dislike that "communutty" word) for granted time after time on issue after issue.

Plus, would you "Republicans" consistently act like the partisans you pretend to be and quit 1.)Sucking up to the left-wing MSM... 2.)Sucking up to the Washington D.C. non-elected establishment... 3.)Sucking up to your opposition and wanting them to like and respect you as equals...

It's gotten so embarrassing that although I still vote Republican in 99% of votes, I registered "Decline to State" a party preference because you jackasses can't even stand by your platform either nationally, or in CA, the great state of!!!

The only reason I'd ever be tempted to completely by-pass an election is from shear embarrassment!!! Your guys and gals hafta give people something to vote for that we can be proud of.

You'll have to admit that recently there haven't been too many inspiring incidents of actual leadership to cause people to crawl across broken glass to get to the polling place and vote for pleasing "Republicans!" Not if you're honest!!!

You have to pick your spots. In Illinois we have a corrupt liberal Chicago ward boss son-in-law and former Congressman Rod Blagoevich running against current social liberal with ties to corrupt Republicans like George Ryan and former house minority leader Lee Daniels. Her name is Judy Baar Topinka.

The Combine which is a mix of Republican and Democrat powerbrokers that divy up resources and govt jobs in this state support both of these candidates.

So many Conservatives will be writing in Retired Marine Corps Veteran Randy Stufflebeam www.runrandyrun.com. He is not tied to corruption and left the Republican Party in Illinois because they have forgotten Conservative voters.

If it's a House or Senate race that can effect leadership of the entire country and the Pelosi gang . You can vote against a safe seat Republican who has not done right. If it's a tight race unless he or she has some corruption or something similar to Mark Foley then I would vote to keep them.

Disgruntled or not we Americans need to vote for Republicans because we need to keep the Republicans in control of the House of Representatives. Remember that it was Republicans in the House who drove the Fence bill, and the tough border enforcement only bill. These tough on illegal immigration bills passed in the House only because of Republicans in the House. It is also these heroic Republicans in the House that stopped the horrible Amnesty for illegals Senate bill that would increase immigration by 200 million . The unholy alliance of Democrats and RINOS passed this Amnesty bill in the Senate. It is ONLY because of Republicans in the House that we don't have Amnesty for 20 million illegals today. A Democrat controlled house will make this horrible amnesty bill the law of the land. And with 200 million additional 3rd world immigrants the Democrats will destroy the U.S.A by turning the U.S.A into a third world socialist state.

And on the issue of the “GOP spending too much”

1. the deficit has been decreasing by huge numbers the last few years. So how do we have “record government spending” with tax cuts and 2 necessary wars against radical Islam? The deficit was much larger during world war 2 and this threat is much greater as there are 50+ Islamic countries while there was only a few axis powers.
2. Deficit for 2006 is 1.9% of GDP which is less than the average for the last 30 years.
3. Most spending is mandatory like Social security , Medicare, Medicaid etc. Bush did try to partially privatize social security but the RINOS, Democrats and the Democrat media stopped him.
4. The democrats are calling for less cuts in Medicaid and voted against them. The democrats are calling for more spending on education, welfare, Medicaid, social programs , embryonic stem cell research. But the Democrat media says the Republicans are the big spenders.
5. Anyone can play with statistics and not take into account the war of civilizations we are in, inflation, population growth , growth of the economy, etc. to make the Republicans look like the big spenders.
6. On cutting spending the Republicans have to fight the Democrats, the media and RINOS just like they fought and lost on social security privatization, Drilling in An-war, tough border enforcement bill that passed the House but was stopped in the Senate, etc. 7. the solution to cutting spending more (discretionary domestic spending is down) is to elect more conservative Republicans in place of the RINOS and gain an overwhelming conservative majority not to elect socialist big government Democrats.

So these points expose the lies of the Democrat media.

Being a disgruntled conservative beats the hell out of being a disgruntled liberal.

It's better to have two cookies and wish for two or three more with Macadamia nuts than to have no cookies and see only a greasy spot on the window where you have pressed your nose so many times.

If you want to keep your two cookies, you better damn sure get out to vote and you better vote Republican. If you don't, You will loose your cookies and it might be a long wait for more.

Good post!!!!!!

This election is not the time to try to send a message to the GOP about how we (conservatives) really feel about their move to the left of center. We'll have our chance in the near future to expel the RINOS.

I must say that I have bashed Bush and the GOP in recent years for their failed policies, but will still vote straight R for the good of the country and my grankids future.

We must all get out there and vote.
