A month or so ago I would have said that Neal Gabler and I inhabit different planets, but his apparent home of has recently been demoted from planetary status. While I'm off searching for another metaphor, let me pass along the latest comment from the decidedly liberal denizen of Fox News Watch that made me reflect on just how distinct a world view we have. In the course of discussing on this evening's show the controversy that erupted this past week over Rush Limbaugh's comments about Michael Fox, Gabler had this to say:
"The media has tread lightly on Rush and his criticism of [Michael J.] Fox. To my mind, Rush is a cancer to America and hatemongers are marginalized, and why the media does not marginalize Rush, I don't know."
I strongly disagree with Gabler when it comes to his characterization of Rush, whom I consider a great American voice. We'll grant that Neal's entitled to his opinion. But he certainly is not entitled to his facts. To claim that the media has "tread lightly" in criticizing Rush's criticism of Fox is, simply, to be detached from reality.
Look no further than NewBusters for proof:
If there was one man in America whom the MSM vilified this past week, it was Rush. Why would Gabler compromise his reputation by suggesting the contrary?
That was my thought.
BTW, how's deer huntin'?
Is it any wonder that Bill Clinton refers to him as Kneel Gabler?
You can try to email the show. I have done that so many times.
Woofie Blitzer must be his hero.
I saw/heard it. Gabler is an a-hole. (By the way, does he paint that beard on?)
Jane Hall has Waxman nostrils....
Did you hear him say he's writing a book and that comment is "some" of what he's putting in his book?
Gabler reminded me again why I stopped watching it - his incurable BDS - defending awards for magazine covers
trashing Bush/Cheney.
There's plenty to beat up on Bush about. Celebrating nastiness based on media created lies ain't one of them.
"Why would Gabler compromise his reputation by suggesting the contrary?"
What reputation? He only has to please his masters - the rest of us can go whistle.
It's funny to watch Gabler froth at the mouth. He's your sterotypical liberal extremist.
No, Gabler, the media has no right to control what Rush Limbaugh says. That's why we call it freedom of speech.
Seems to me like the guy isn't very careful with his medication. In his book he states he did go off his meds before testifying on Capital Hill. Now he admits he had over-medicated before the political add. That's not exactly wise IMO.
I think he bought out the remaining stock on Ron Popeil's spray-on "Head of Hair" spray to enhance his facial hair.
The really cruel people are the ones who encourage false hopes in embryonic stem cell research.
*Mostly folks on the left.
Gabler's mouth seems to run while his brain is not engaged.
LOL!!
Probably a dominant hereditary trait, passed down from whichever of his ancestors was first named Gabler.
Gabler is a (I can't say it...). I can't stand to watch him on FOX. Where did they dig him up anyway? Is it Halloween???
He's the most extreme of two leftist commentators on Fox News Watch.
Check out his book. He thinks his life is a movie and he is the leading star.
His head is as far up his @ss as Kerry's.
So Rush in all probability caught him in the act, and so discredited the ad. Furthermore, Rush correctly spelled out the difference between the more advanced and promising adult stem cell and umbilical cord stem cell lines of research, on the one hand, and the as yet unfruitful and highly speculative embryonic stem cell approach.
Small wonder that the lefty MSM is in an uproar: Rush in all likelihood detected the Democrat advertising chicanery and esposed it for all his listeners to hear. Not the first time he's hit them where they're vulnerable, and it won't be the last.
