Gabler: Media Have 'Tread Lightly' on Rush The 'Cancer'
Fox News Watch/NewsBusters ^

A month or so ago I would have said that Neal Gabler and I inhabit different planets, but his apparent home of has recently been demoted from planetary status. While I'm off searching for another metaphor, let me pass along the latest comment from the decidedly liberal denizen of Fox News Watch that made me reflect on just how distinct a world view we have. In the course of discussing on this evening's show the controversy that erupted this past week over Rush Limbaugh's comments about Michael Fox, Gabler had this to say:
"The media has tread lightly on Rush and his criticism of [Michael J.] Fox. To my mind, Rush is a cancer to America and hatemongers are marginalized, and why the media does not marginalize Rush, I don't know."
I strongly disagree with Gabler when it comes to his characterization of Rush, whom I consider a great American voice. We'll grant that Neal's entitled to his opinion. But he certainly is not entitled to his facts. To claim that the media has "tread lightly" in criticizing Rush's criticism of Fox is, simply, to be detached from reality.
Look no further than NewBusters for proof:
If there was one man in America whom the MSM vilified this past week, it was Rush. Why would Gabler compromise his reputation by suggesting the contrary?

Did Rush say something that wasn't true?

I think he bought out the remaining stock on Ron Popeil's spray-on "Head of Hair" spray to enhance his facial hair. He looks like a Chia Neal.

Neil Gabler is just a mean-spirited, angry lefty. This sums up all of their miserable existences. Gabler speaks for the overwhelming majority of liberals--angry, angst-ridden, envious and resentful of others whom they see as more adequate than themselves.

IMO Fox overmedicated himself into Dyskenesia, which is a spastic situation. My mother has Parkinson's and can barely move.

"THe media doesn't marginalize Rush because Rush, in case you didn't know it, is the media to most of America."
Right on, to at least 20+ million of us. Amen.

The U.S. population is about 295,734,134....
20 million listeners isn't "most of America"....
And that was my point.
Maybe I'm nit-picking.....but as El Rushbo says...."words mean things"........Hehehe..
Carry-on.........

Funny, but I don't remember Gabler's great concern for Rush's hearing loss - or his struggle with prescription drugs ... nope, the libs had a field day with those medical issues.
But when it's one of their own - a LIBERAL - then we must all be appropriately solemn.
Sorry, the days of the victim spokesperson are over...
If only liberals qualify, it's just another form of bias...

I don't know why Cal Thomas doesn't just stand up and stomp the s*** out of him. Should be part of every show. I'd pay good money to see that.

Galber was even more obnoxious than usual last night. He was interrupting everyone. His comment that the 2006 election was a "watershed election" [sic] really stood out to me, moreso that his Rush comments. (I expect libs to attack Rush.) Pinkerton took Gabler to task, but Gabler insisted that the 2006 election was a "watershed election." Forchrissakes, the election hasn't even happened yet!
More than once, while Gabler spoke, the camera showed Pinkerton's facial expression. It seemed to be a mix of dismay and disdain.
Gabler is creepy and nauseating, and the beard doesn't help. Every time I see him, I can't help but wonder what nasty substances might be encrusted in that beard.

Sorry to hear about your mom. Thanks for the explanation of what could have happened to Fox when overmedicating.
