Supposedly what he witnessed were accepted culturally in those countries and he wrote about it.

Is this the same Steve Jarding?

"Steve Jarding, Lecturer in Public Policy, has spent 25 years working in American politics. He is a past Executive Director of the South Dakota Democratic Party and former Communications Director in Bob Kerrey's U.S. Senate campaigns in Nebraska. He has served as Communications Director of the national Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and has run leadership PACs for Senators Kerrey and John Edwards. In 2001, Jarding was campaign manager for Mark Warner's bid for governor of Virginia, a campaign recognized by many as the best run in the country. In 1996, Roll Call magazine named Jarding one of the 50 most influential political people in Washington, DC. Jarding received an undergraduate degree from the University of South Dakota and a master's degree from the University of Oklahoma where he served as a Fellow at the Carl Albert Congressional Studies Center. In 2004, Jarding was a Fellow at the Institute of Politics. Jarding has taught at the University of Oklahoma, George Mason University, and American University. Jarding is coauthor of the 2006 book Foxes in the Hen House, a political commentary published by Simon and Schuster."

I just called Webb's Campaign Headquarters and asked who Steve Jarding was, and he is a senior advisor. I told the person I spoke with that if I lived in Virginia, this letter would be a big turnoff for me. Suggested Mr. Jarding study the Constitution and realize Allen had the right to THINK and SAY what he wanted to about Webb's writings. Mr. Jarding sounds very petty and immature!

Senator, you have not earned the right to question Jim Webb’s wartime experiences

Dear Nobody Steve Jardin. No American has earned the right to question anybody. That right happens to be ours as an endowment from the Creator. I would not question even the right of someone as obviously ignorant as you to the same right.

This creep deserves the Mikhail Baryshnikov Award for Spin.

He takes the scandal surrounding the literary pervert, Webb, and twirls it into a paean of praise and chutzpah about Webb's military record.

Gotta hand it to this hysterical loser.......he tried.

Won't work, pal. You should have gone to the ballet instead of sitting up all night writing this piece of desperation.

" Webb is turning into John Kerry "

Literally.
His face looks just like Kerry's Botoxed mask.

"Supposedly what he witnessed were accepted culturally in those countries and he wrote about it."

Perhaps, but this stuff was over the top and waaaaay beyond what would be necessary to convey anything like that to the reader, this is sick.........

"He saw the invitation with every bouncing breast and curved hip. . . . He was thirteen. . . . She was fifteen . . . . In a few moments she drew him to her and he murmured in his quiet voice, 'I am still small.' 'You are large enough,' she answered. And he found he was."

Yup because when this idiot Webb screwed up the Woman vote now he's going to try to get the Veteran vote by pointing out the fact that Allen never served. Desperation is right!

George Allen: You Have Not Earned the Right to Question Jim Webb’s Recollections of War – So Just Shut Up...

The last I heard, Allen was not questioning any of Webb's recollections of war. He was just pointing out quotations in his books.

Why isn't that permissible?

I feel like I fell down a rabbit hole and ended up in Wonderland.

I have always liked and respected James Webb. I may not agree with his views, but I trust that his views are his own. He is a honest, smart man. Although, I am VERY disappointed in is views on Iraq.

I think Allen is a typical no-good politician in the likes of Bill Clinton. He will say/do whatever the polls tell him to say/do in order to get elected.

That said I would vote for Allen if I was a Virginian. As disgusted I am with the man he is a vote for W.

This makes me sad. I have to support an idiot over a smart honest man because of Iraq. I don't like having sleazy politicians on my side. Repubicans can and MUST do better.

It's related to what Ann Coulter talks about: We are not allowed to question vets, or widows, or people with Parkinson's Disease. They are immune to any and all criticism or discussion of any kind. Merely printing words Webb wrote is a "smear." BTW: I can understand that people write things, all kinds of things, and that doesn't equate them to the characters in their books. I also understand there are bizarre practices in many parts of the world. It can all be explained away. That said, it is fair game. This, is more fair than talk of a deer hear supposedly placed in a mailbox decades ago - with no proof whatsoever. GO ALLEN!

Allen is a U.S. citizen, I think that gives him the right to question anyones recollection who makes accusations about him.

Good Day, Sir!

Allen should see if he can use this in ads against Webb How can anyone call it a negative ad, if it's this uplifting jingle?

Jim Webb is becoming fair game for every stand-up comedian in the nation.

I can't wait to see Leno's take on this.

Oh, wait--Leno only satirizes the President and conservatives.

Well, we'll just have to do the job here on FR.
