Just sent $50 after reading that incredible speech. Cannot WAIT to get to the polls on 11/7 and vote for him. I don't believe he's lost this fight at ALL.
Good question. I think Europe is caught in an anti-American hate spiral. All news reports are about evil Americans and their interrogation techniques against poor innocent muslims. Right now we have 2 ex-US soldiers here in Ireland preaching the horrors of Abu-Garib to an eager media. They're all over the place, news, anti-war rallies, and they are hell bent on portraying the US military as evil. Funnily, to the consternation of one radio host who sympathetically interviewed them, most of the listeners' comments were negative toward the two men recognizing their agenda for what it is. Maybe there is hope.
I'm thinking we have a really silent majority here, it's better than nothing!
We can see the scales are beginning to fall from people's eyes - from the EU to the Good Friday Appeassement!
If only the political elite would wake up....

We have in this nation today one political party that just doesn't seen to get it, and one that inspite of all it's faults does get it.
Never Again: Securing America and Restoring Justice (Hardcover)
by John Ashcroft

Book Description
John Ashcroft's service as attorney general began with turmoil: a loss to a deceased challenger in his senate reelection campaign and a tumultuous confirmation battle. Then, on September 11, 2001, his job was transformed into the greatest leadership challenge an attorney general has ever faced. Highly classified intelligence briefings, secret surveillance of terror cells, and war councils with President Bush gave Ashcroft a uniquely comprehensive--and uniquely chilling--view of the threats to American security. In NEVER AGAIN, Ashcroft breaks his silence about historic events that transpired during his term of office--including the largest terrorist attack in U.S. history, the enactment and defense of the Patriot Act, the Robert Hanssen spy scandal, the execution of Timothy McVeigh, and the recently discovered domestic surveillance program authorized by President Bush. In this provocative book, readers will meet the man behind the title and hear his take on the dangers to and within America from outside forces, and what he did to repair the serious breaches in our country's security. NEVER AGAIN is a fascinating and probing look at what Ashcroft believes will ultimately make America safe.

With all the books being published by former and current government officials it is refreshing to read a piece that does more to explain the recent historical situation than to blame others for how it came about.
The Attorney General elucidates the administration's domestic response to 9-11 through the lense of his own experience. He reflects on his failures and successes at the Department of Justice and responds with consternation to his critics and critics of the Patriot Act.
It's great reading by a powerful and sincere man.
thanks for the ping.

"It's time we recognized the nature of the conflict. It's total war and we are all involved. Nobody on our side is exempted because of age, gender, or handicap. The Islamofacists have stolen childhood from the world." [FReeper Retief]
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Paleologus - as quoted by Pope Benedict XVI
Those people were not marked for death because they supported the war in Iraq, or supported George W. Bush, or sent troops to Afghanistan. They were targeted because they were guilty of being Jews. This is evil.Wholeheartedly agree.
And, bitt, thanks for the ping.
