Aussie Mufti To Women: Stop Making us Rape You (Senior Most Islamic Cleric In Australia

That veil's there for a reason, darlin':

While not specifically referring to the rapes, brutal attacks on four women for which a group of young Lebanese men received long jail sentences, Sheik Hilali said there were women who "sway suggestively" and wore make-up and immodest dress... "and then you get a judge without mercy (rahma) and gives you 65 years"...

In the religious address on adultery to about 500 worshippers in Sydney last month, Sheik Hilali said: "If you take out uncovered meat and place it outside on the street, or in the garden or in the park, or in the backyard without a cover, and the cats come and eat it...whose fault is it, the cats or the uncovered meat?

"The uncovered meat is the problem."

The sheik then said: "If she was in her room, in her home, in her hijab, no problem would have occured."

It's just that sometimes people post that conventional wisdom (it has become such) that rape is an act of violence, not of lust, and it irritates me. Of course it's an act of lust, the animal sees a female and feels lust and acts on it. The power trip may add to the excitement, maybe even sometimes the power is the only thing, but to say that lust isn't involved sounds like PC think to me.

This Mufti is trying to lay the blame on women, when the blame lies elsewhere.

Sounds like a democrat:

takes no personal responsibility for his actions.

I'm the opposite, raised in a culture where every act of rape was because a woman made a man lust too much for her....

True rape is an act of hatred, rage, violence and control....the greater the pain and fear of the victim, the greater the arrousal of the rapist.

Present a rapist with a woman who isn't afraid of him, no matter how 'sexy' she is, and the less likely he'll be able to perform.....They pick their victims not on 'sexiness' but more on access and intimidation.

So yeah, I know/believe rape is about violence....sex is just he weapon.

Not so hard to believe, if you read anything by Daniel Pipes about Islam, it seems quite warped to begin with.

John Howard and the Aussie Foreign Minister who have been outspoken in their criticism of islamic radicalism need to come down hard on this rag-head woman-hater!

"I think his basic response to women is anger and hatred"

I've concluded that Muslims do have a seething hatred for all women because of the uncontrollable "feelings" that they elicit in the immature and solipsistic Muslim male, and that they are particularly terrified of Mommy.

"Muslim males are afraid of women. That's the only explanation I can think of."

Agreed. See my #27.

Seeing as they are incapable of adult self-control and simple respect for others:

"A better solution might be to have all the Muslim men cover tied up and stay in their rooms."

It is really John Howard's fault cause he didn't cut the nuts off all the Muslim men. They wouldn't have this lust then.

On the general contention about rape, sex, and power, I still am not entirely persuaded. For one thing, I think the line between sex and power is blurred. Go to a cattery and watch some time. Breeding is pretty close to fighting! I used to run purebred sheep, and a LOT of the rams really had difficulty figuring out whether ewes were for breeding or for fighting. I used to say that rams had only three responses to things: Can I fight it? Can I breed with it? Is it good to eat? (I really liked most of my rams. I miss them.)

But in this case I think what incites or triggers the violence is (1) the sight of the women reminds the male Muslim viewer of his sexual urges, and (2) that makes the viewer anxious, and (3) he responds to the anxiety by getting angry and aggressive.

A lot of guys want women to take responsibility for the guys' feelings for them ("You MADE me want you ...."), and maybe a not a few women know how to play on men's desires. But the mature, healthy, and moral guy (I know a few exist somewhere) enjoys seeing lovely and attractive women AND accepts responsibility for his actions. I think a lot of Islamic culture encourages men to shed responsibility for their feelings. If they're angry it's your fault, if they're aroused it's your fault, if they're economic and military failures, it's your fault. Nothing is their fault.

I have critters, so I do understand the animal drive of sex.

I also have the 'priviledge' of reviewing charts and interview clients who are rapists....

With them, it ain't about sex. I've had them try to intimidate me when I looked like Broomhilda on crack. It's not about sex, it's about fear.....that's they source of their orgasm. Granted, I'm no expert, but all I know from this and from personal/family/friend experience is it's in the head, not the groin.

So Islamic men have no more self control than cats?

Does that we can start killing them, like we do annoying cats?

Granted, I'm no expert, but all I know from this and from personal/family/friend experience is it's in the head, not the groin.

It never WAS in the groin, not really, not all of it. The gonad bone is connected to the heart bone in healthy human-type personnel. Jealousy murders aren't because the groin hurts but because the heart hurts. Medea kills her children because SHE is offended, not because her sexual needs are not being served. So I'm questioning/challenging the dichotomy. The brain is the premier erogenous zone in humans.

Yeah I think that we are hardwired to respond to sights and smells, sounds and touches, but I think that's just one element in the story. Men and women who would never deserve being charged with rape still speak of "conquests". "Yielding" and "demanding" are words which are staples in the bodice-ripper industry. We want to sweep or be swept off our feet or caught in the spell. They don't call it "wrestling" fur nuthin' y'know ....

;-) In marriage "good sex" is often followed by a good fight, just to maintain or reclaim a little boundary or defensive perimeter or whatever. The husband who is a cocksman par excellence but shows insufficient sensitivity to his wife's other needs will soon fail in the sexual area as well; and the wife who takes her husband's caresses for granted may find that they lessen over time.

(Pastoral counseling background, both clinical and study, is my, har-de-har, authority here ... Not important, I can be dead wrong with any amount of authority, I've found.)

Well, my nomme de computer comes from my needing rabies shots after one of my sheep became rabid.

Think of it: Rabid sheep! Sounds like the Democrat National Convention, doesn't it?

And it gets even better. The symptoms of rabies in sheep are continual bleating and hypersexuality .... What recent Commander-in-cheat do that remind you of? (Of course, it also reminds me of me in college, but I'm trying to forget that ...)
