As the Republican base fragments and Christian conservatives consider a fast from politics, the polling data point to a mid-term Republican thumping. Less than two weeks from now, Republicans will begin their post-mortem soul searching. And as the corpses of their House and Senate majorities grow cold, so should Karl Roves 2006 campaign strategy.

Thanks for your ping, Fiddlstix. I'm not sure about a double hijack on this thread (that you allude), but I'll read on (from the beginning) and see what comes up.
It'll probably take a while to read it all. I doubt there's another Thread like it in the history of FR.
Be prepared for some twists and turns though. Please try to avoid whiplash. lol
Actually, I think that it's been more than just two hijacks. LOL
And there were also a whole lot of hijackings, to boot. :-)
Oh goodness gracious, we'll need special green eye shades for THAT counting!
Ain't THat The Truth! ROTFL!
Whew.
I've been asked to associate with Cato many times in the past and most likely my mind rest there. But really, these political ads we see on tv are not for FReepers or libertians. They have become bumper sticker, jerry springer-crowdisms and quite frankly, I've had enought of this election cycle. I'm going to show up on Tuesday and pull the R lever, right on down the line.
There's absolutely no reason for Nancy Pelosi (House), nor Hildabeast (Senate) to take control.
Now back to post 101 . . . Perhaps there's something to mull over . . .
The CatBird said 'creationists', as if all of us are the same. I merely used 'Evoultionist' in the same manner.
How come; if we fly the OTHER direction, we never get jet LEAD??
(Our Scientist friends probably have a explanation for it.)
Keep reading. You'll get to the "good parts".....
It gets better. LOL
Seems like an awful lot of code to merely shift colors....

Could we attract a big crowd to discuss how Gravity works?
"Republicans should reembrace the libertarian principles of the party. They should return to Reagans fiscal conservatism and Goldwaters social tolerance. Reagan won two landslides on a platform of economic reform and smaller government. George W. Bush squeaked through twice with his combination of big-government conservatism and social conservatism. In particular, he lost younger voters 54 percent to 45 percent, and younger voters are the most libertarian. Theyre happy with globalization and economic freedom, but they dont like restrictions on gay marriage and stem-cell research."
Firstly, I don't remember Goldwater's social tolerance. In 1964, I was 14. Me Da was 34 and a John Bircher and I'm pretty sure this is not how auh20 was perceived by the general populace. What's up with GWB as being "big-government conservative" LOL no chancethere. And I employ plenty of 20 and 30 somethings and not one (not one) speaks for the rights of gay marriage. Everyone I've spoken to in the past week (in that age group) thought Michael Fox turned it up a few notches for the election.
They know stem cell research is unproven. Possibly bogus and perhaps just as disingenuous as an Algore environmental presentation on global warming. Yep, that's what I see the heartland youngfolk believing.
Back to post 250 . . .
You got a couple hundred posts to go before it starts getting really interesting. lol
Ohhh, that's bad.
I guess MARQUEE doesn't work in FR land!
Not anymore. JohnRob disabled that tag here on FR back in 2002, if memory serves.
