US Vice President Dick Cheney said Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton could win the White House in 2008 and that a potential Democratic opponent, Senator Barack Obama, is too inexperienced.
Mrs Clinton, a New York Democrat who is running for re-election, is considered a likely contender for the White House in 2008.
Mr Obama, serving his first term as a US senator from Illinois, has been touted recently as a possible candidate, something he said he would consider.
"I think Hillary Clinton is a formidable candidate," Mr Cheney said in an interview with Fox News' Hannity and Colmes due to air today.
"I think she could win. I hope she doesn't. I disagree with her on nearly all the issues, but nobody should underestimate her. She's a very serious candidate for president."
Mr Cheney reiterated that he had no intention of running for president.
"I'm not coy about it. I made my decision a long time ago, and it's firm, final, fixed, irrevocable."

The clintons are ruthless, lucky (e.g., had Bush 41 not been so popular after the Gulf War, clinton would not have had the opportunity to run, especially after that soporific keynote address in '91).They are not nearly as bright as their PR would have us believe.... We must take them seriously because they are ruthless and they have power, not because they are bright.
That's not reality....it's a wish or a dream. Whichever.
FWIW-
The Hildebeast will NEVER be President.
I did. And I stand by it.
Hillary will never see the primaries or a debate. Bank on it.
Got anything to bet?
She can't win a general election.
Why? I find the country pretty split along party lines. We had two close elections with regards to electoral votes. One state go her way would do it. I obviously hope that does not happen but I just don't underestimate the Clintons. If we put up a good candidate, Hillary as the democrat and McCain or someone else running, she could win. Shutter the thought. lol.
Not being disrespectful, but were you like all of us and think that Bill would never be President either...Most here could not see Bill being President one time much less two. Just curious. That is why I don't underestimate that Clinton Machine. She is just kicking a$$ in New York...Every Republican that ran against her barely even made a dent into her lead especially this time. She hasn't even sweat once. Oh maybe for a milisecond during the debate, but not too much. That is what scares me the most.
For those who scoff, a recent poll of voters in Michigan and Pennsylvania, both somewhat "purple" states, reveals that at least one-third of the voters want Roe v. Wade repealed. Guiliani is pro-abortion; McCain's record is inconsistent; Romney conveniently changed his pro-abortion record when entering national politics from leftist Massachusetts. It is hard to imagine these voters being enthusiastic about the three RINOs. A high turnout among these voters is desperately needed if the GOP wants to win these states, or, more significantly, wants to hold states like Ohio and Florida that the younger Bush narrowly won in 2000 and 2004.
The main reason I think the Beast will never be president is that she's a bit like Gore or John Kerry - generally speaking, the more people see/hear of her, the less they like her. Just the opposite is true of W - generally, the more people see and hear of him, the better their opinion becomes.
The Beast is a nasty, power-hungry, arrogant wench, and sooner or later, she can't keep that under wraps and people get to see who she really is. She may have been able to stay under the radar enough in the NY senate race to avoid people seeing her true colors, but I doubt she could do it under the scrutiny of the presidential race.
I could be wrong, but I hope not! I really don't want to think about what a nightmare a President Hildebeast would be...
Remember that the smartest woman in the world was outsmarted by a 21 year old intern. Right wing conspiracy, my a**......perverted, lying husband!!!

Great point! I was like others when W first won in 2000. I was thinking oh know the President cannot communicate. I really did think that at first. Once 9/11 came around he spoke to the country and I was sold. Today he spoke and now I practically get goosebumps. He has improved in everything over the years. Gore just seemed slimy and Kerry was just too wooden for the presidency...thankfully for us. I think you could be right about Hillary. She would seriously need to change her personality in order to win....I am still not going to write her completely off, but I won't worry too much about her.
Nobody finds Hillary likable.
Not to mention the fact that (right or wrong) this country isn't ready to elect ANY woman president.
Without him it never would have happened.

Play it again, Sam. You are right, it is their SOP.
