Democratic strategists, seeing this election as the best opportunity for the party since the 1974 post-Watergate blowout, are urging party leaders to go for broke.
James Carville called it a “twicein-a-lifetime environment” that could give Democrats “gains large enough to affect congressional control over this decade.”
The Democratic National Committee has already said it is taking out a loan of up to $10 million to plow into hot Senate races in Tennessee, Virginia and New Jersey. And the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee wrote checks for at least $12 million last week, primarily for ad buys targeting 30 at-risk Republican districts and just four Democratic districts that need shoring up.
Of that $12 million, nearly half was spent against three Pennsylvania Republicans — Jim Gerlach, Curt Weldon and Mike Fitzpatrick. They represent districts in suburban Philadelphia that supported Sen. John Kerry in the 2004 presidential election...

Bull crap. If the dems win, it will be by bare majorities. Ole snake head is up to his usual nuttiness. Or, perhaps not. If the dems go for broke and go broke, that could well position a well financed Hillary Clinton (like it or not, she and the Slick One can raise cash) to be the perceived saviors of the democrat party. At any rate, I sense another egg in the face moment for Mr. Carville.
If the Dems lose, defined as not get control of anything, that will be the end of them. The Dem party will start crumbling - and not even Slick Willy will be able to put them back together.
If money was the answer Lieberman would be losing to Lamont in Connecticut,he has spent 14 million of his own money and is behind by 13 points.
Besides that Lamont is the anti Iraq war candidate and Lieberman supports the president on the war! Go figure

On the contrary, it is all about Slick Willie. His coalition wants to take over the DNC and the party. There needs to be a reason. So while Slick Willie is going around doing what he does best(aside from raping women),laying the seeds for a party takeover.
Dems aren't taking either house. They migyht pick up a couple of seats but that is the extent of it.
Ah but the difference is where the money comes from. Grasroots money is more important that personal money. Barron's did their analysis based on the money donated by the folks out there. Those who donate, will go vote, and will also try and influence others to do the same and for the same candidate. Makes sense to me that the candidate that gets more of the $50 donations will do better than a guy spending his own millions, as long as the disparity is not overwhelming.

ALSO: I'd like to know what rate you get when you borrow $10 million dollars for political campaigns?
The RATS' tactics during the current campaign motivated me to contribute; otherwise I would probably have passed. Heck, they even motivated me to vote for DeWine.
I agree with that ,my point was Lamont according to the democrats was a sure thing ,he should not have to be spending 2 million dollars more of his personal money with 2 weeks to go before the election,being against the Iraq war like the entire country as you know.
Especially in Connecticut a Liberal state
