A Brigham Young University physics professor who suggested the World Trade Center was brought down by explosives has resigned, six weeks after the school placed him on leave.
Steven Jones' retirement is effective Jan. 1, 2007.
Jones recently published theories about U.S. government involvement in the events of Sept. 11, including one suggesting that explosives inside the World Trade Center - not airplanes striking the twin towers - brought the complex down.

No different than if he had been pontificating about man not walkng on the moon or Abe Lincoln not being shot in Ford's theater. Certain historical facts are not debatable issues unless you are a nut job. Not only do we have eye witnesses who saw the planes hit the towers, but there have been ample credible studies debunking all of these towers packed with explosives before the planes hit conspiracy theories. This guy doesn't deserve to be teaching anywhere.
If someone says they are an alien or their father was Yeti or any of the other crazy things people say chances are it doesn't get into mainstream media. But, whacko conspiracy theories do no matter how far fetched. Good thing MSM or as I like to say the PCP (Politically Correct Press) is not liberally biased or they would be presenting this as fact. /sarc
"A Brigham Young University physics professor"
Brigham Young is a Mormon University.
Here is graphic evidence of that. Note the outward bowing of the steel column supports moments before collapse:
"The dimwit tin foil hat crowd fail to realize that when you implode a building, you do it from the bottom up, not the top down.
Oh well, logic never made much of a difference to the conspiracy nutjobs."
They actually think that Karl Rove had the entire building rigged with explosives prior to the "crash"
That the "crashes" were really unmanned aircraft used to divert our attention away from the planned demolition.
At least that's the best I could gather from their crazy ramblings.
Do a google search of Loose Change.....these people are insanely stupid.
The same guy who promoted Cold Fusion (the power generator.)
Considering my increasing weight, it should probably be a three-three or maybe even a four-four in my case
Someone's getting a raging clue!
From Cold Fusion to Con Fusion
If we did this we would have no university professors left. "So, what's the problem?" you say. Well, I won't answer that one.
Maybe two tutus, too!
Hey! I'm a prof! And I'm not a doctrinator! : )
I have an even more raging clue......to the left.
PF
Wern't the cold fusion guys Pons and Fleischman?
Wasn't there another professor from University of Wisconsin - Madison that was saying the same garbage? If that is the right university, he will not be fired or resign because it is a state school. And government finds it difficult to fire anyone, so we probably are stuck with that loon.
"You need to get your whack-job facts straight!"
(..whispering here....just wait 'till the libs realize that Rove can and did reprogram all the Diebold machines, using Rumsfeld's military satellites, similar to "On-Star" opening your locked automobile.......just remember that you DIDN'T hear this from me, OK???...)
Incidents like these make you wonder what their selection process is to begin with. Is academia filled with quacks like this, except who have the common sense not to mouth off?
