I can see the editorial staff at the SF Comical clicking their ruby slippers and saying over and over again "Santorum loses, Santorum loses".

"No one is further to the right in the Senate than Rick Santorum,'' said Ralph Neas, president of the liberal advocacy group People for the American Way. "If he had his way, the constitutional clock would be turned back about seven decades.''

No one is more hyperbolic that Ralph Neas.

Of course, the irony of this is that in order to claim Santorum's seat the Democrats have been forced to run a (nominal) pro-life, "fiscal conservative", "social moderate", who (IIRC) is not calling for an immediate withdrawal from Iraq. In other words, a watered-down version of Rick Santorum.

It will be a disgrace, if conservatives don't turn out to reelect Santorum and allow a Dem to take his seat.

There is probably no one the left would rather see defeated this November than Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum.

Read that you conservatives who say "I won't vote for Santorum, he campaigned for Specter." The left wants this guy defeated more than any other candidate running this fall. Geez, I wonder why that would be?? Is it because Santorum is a liberal just like Specter??? Uh, no. It's because he's an outspoken conservative who isn't afraid to take it to the Democrats and isn't afraid to tell it like it is while so many other Senators play this silly "Senate collegiality" thing. Santorum doesn't go for that and prefers to fight these Democrats on principle and convictions rather than doing a lot of cloak roam back slapping. Instead, Santorum is a work horse fighting for conservative causes and for those issues that are most important in this campaign, especially the war against Islamic fascism.

So those of you planning to not vote for Santorum in Pennsylvania remember this. You are in league with the radical left in wanting to see him defeated. So how does that give you standing to criticize Santorum for having campaigned for Specter when you're lining up with the radical left to try to defeat Santorum? Think about it.

He is a religious conservative who has spoken out against abortions, gay unions and contraception.

I think he's blown it his with controversial statements on these issues as well as the Terri Shaivo thing.

Whether he's right or wrong, let's face it, most people get turned off by politicians mouthing off on such inflamatory issues.

And there are signs that Republicans are pulling back resources in an acknowledgement that there are other battles they are more likely to win.

No, there are signs the RINO screw job the Republican Party routinely visits upon conservatives, especially those with Presidential possiblities, is still in full force.

This is the payback Santorum gets for supporting Arlen Specter.

Santorum will be re-elected no matter how much the commie Neas prays to Karl Marx.

Rick is in some serious trouble but his situation has improved in the last couple months. He is a hell of a fighter and has a chance of pulling it off.

I live in Philly and will be voting for Santorum. The infamous "Philly Dem Vote Fraud Machine" may not come out in full force for Casey, Gov. Rendell has all but endorsed Santorum. Sure, Santorum will lose the city by a large margin, but maybe not as large as expected...I think he'll pull out a squeaker. Casey just doesn't have any oomph to make the Libs vote for him in droves.

Ralph Neas: "If he had his way, the constitutional clock would be turned back about seven decades.''

Gee, I guess I missed the amendment that installed a clock into the Constitution--the growing, living Constitution.

In the course of an hourlong debate in Philadelphia last week, Casey could not provide details of how he'd balance the budget or identify specific lines that North Korea or Iran would need to cross for him to vote a war resolution.

Pathetic. Is he so terrified of his own liberal voters? I guess so.

Liberal voters in Philadelphia roll their eyes when they discuss Santorum's well-known utterings, such as his declaration that abortion is worse than slavery

I see nothing controversial about that.

""No one is further to the right in the Senate than Rick Santorum,..."

What a crock of . . . fertilizer.

Santorum is rated by the Club for Growth as the 35th most fiscal conservative.

The GOA scores him at 64% on pro gun votes.

He votes consistently 100% pro life. He also works to get pro abortion candidates elected who, when elected to the Senate, cancel out his vote.

All in all, he doesn't sound very conservative to me.
