Police say a former city resident had sex with his daughters for nearly two decades in an effort to produce what he considered a pure bloodline.
Prosecutors say six children were born as a result of the sexual assaults.
The man, who had since moved to Brooklyn, N.Y., is charged with nine counts of sexual assault, 13 counts of aggravated sexual assault, as well as endangering the welfare of a child, aggravated criminal sexual contact, criminal sexual contact and lewdness. His girlfriend also faces sexual assault charges.
Prosecutors say the sexual assaults took place from 1985 through 2002, starting when some of the alleged victims were 13-years old.
The Associated Press is not publishing the 48-year-old father's name because it would identify his daughters.
He has been held at the Passaic County Jail on $500,000 bail since his arrest in July. A grand jury indicted him this week.
Joseph Portelli, the defendant's attorney, told The Record of Bergen County for Friday's newspapers that his client "still maintains

Obviously the man in the article thought "purebred" and "inbred" were synonymous terms.

All I can say is that I'm glad this story wasn't from West Virginia.
The cost of thsi trial could be avoided with the purchase and expenditure a single bullet - I'll donate a dollar and let them keep the change.
What happened to these children? Do they suffer from any defects? I didn't see that mentioned.

Once gay marriage is enshrined in our "constitutional rights" this and more will be the norm.
It heightens the risk. I don't think there is any guarantee one way or the other regardless of generations. The risk probably does mount with increasing generations -- beyond just the number of rolls of the dice.

And the one was 13 when it started, making her likely 33 now?
