How are you txflake? I logged off just after that post. Back on today, as our inspection is OVER! We passed, and now I'm trying to lay back for a while.

javness doesn't sound like a very common nickname, does it? If you google for it, you find this profile. On that profile, it says his AIM screenname is riotboy555. Now google for riotboy555 and you find…a myspace profile. Could be a coincidence, of course, but I bet the FBI is already looking up Brownsville, Texas on a map right now…

you seriously need to calm down and stop worrying about every single thing. in my opinon if someone was going to blow up 7 packed stadiums, they 1, wouldnt be announcing it 2, wouldnt be announcing it on the friends society website

Nice try but I hardly think I am guilty of worrying about "every single thing." lol No, quite the opposite.

I simply feel that not enough creative thought has gone into the very real vulnerability that a packed stadium presents given the current war on terror (assuming that you aren't one of those who insists that we really aren't engaged in such a war) How many times have you heard that our real failure pre-9/11 was a failure to think creatively as to how the terrorists might attack?

Secondly, there is at least one incident that indicates terrorists might be planning something of this nature. Just over a year ago a young man strapped explosives on his back and blew himself up outside a packed Oklahoma stadium. The FBI quickly ruled this to be a suicide totally unrelated to terrorism, even though Hinrichs was involved in the same Norman, Oklahoma mosque as some of the 9/11 terrorists, and his Algerian roommate had a plane ticket to get out of Dodge the next day. Forgive me for being just a little skeptical.

By the way, your post indicates that my concern (not "worry" as you put it) resulted from this bogus threat. Well, you're just plain wrong. My concerns came from the apparent AQ warnings about Ramadan, dirty bombs, specific cities, and I just did the math and saw this Sunday's games as a potential target. BTW just how many muslims attend such sporting events? my guess is not very many

Well, gotta run. Still have some windows to duct tape and a fallout shelter to build. lol

Not quite the same, but the security for the MLB All Star this past July in Pittsburgh was amazing. Trully. I was worried also.

I do know that for days leading up to the Superbowl there were several aircraft combing the area at low altitudes, both over Detroit and Windsor. I read somewhere that we have radiation detection capabilities in aircraft. Who knows, but it wouldn't surprise me if that was what they were doing.

Our family flew the very next week after 9/11. As my daughter said.......Mom, I'm not letting them keep my from my family.

We have flown, gone to major league baseball games, football games, museums, and other place in NYC that might be considered 'targets'.

My husband actually works in one of the target buildings mentioned in last week's news from europe.

He goes to work every day!

thank you! People are really funny about this kind of threat. They would rather make fun of or joke about it but on the other hand they support our "war on terror" and the Prez keeping us safe and fighting the bad guys. Well what is it? Is Al-Qeada a threat, hell, because everytime a threat is posted most people downplay the heck out of it. Perhaps there is nothing to talk about and be concerned about-it's just a neat Rovian plot to help Bush!!!!!Sarcasm inserted here!!

Don't be chicken Little's BUT the threat is out there and we must be vigilant-not wacky just alert.

By the way-what concerns me about this is that the government must get a bezillion threats a day like this. Why is this one being reported and the NFL and local security being consulted? I know we have to be proactive-Something is a tad bit concerning about this one.

Ya know-I put NO STOCK in the gov't saying this threat is not credible..."nothing to see here move on" If they did become alarmist the sheeple would panic. It's a fine line between responsible warnings and hype. Say the gov't does warn people and nothing happens...There goes those repubs again, hyping the threat...hmm rock and a hard place comes to mind!!!

I dunno, seeing as I'll be at one of the stadiums on the hit list this weekend (which has a unique problem of a public street right next to the stadium) I guess it's more interesting to me. NK is going set off nukes. Iraq is going to burn. Who knows what Chavez has in mind but there seems to be a concerted effort going on right here to inform the American people that Bush has made the world less safe. That's the theme. Our enemies want Bush and the Republicans out because Pelosi and Murtha are waiting in the wings. Our enemies are playing with our politics. A large attack would hurt Bush right here. It would be a slap.

As a poor Texan fan, I'm pretty confident that the only bomb at Reliant stadium will be the team itself.

no, thank you! :-) It sounds like we are approaching this from the same point of view. I hesitated to voice the same question you did...why is such a big deal being made of this one?

Could be several things I suppose: Could have simply been leaked and then spiraled out of control. Or could be an FBI tactic to dissuade someone from really trying something (if they know we're onto them). Could be something politically motivated (one side or the other). Or something else???

One possible really bad scenario could be this: This supposed "bogus threat" could have been intentionally made to get everyone thinking "dirty bomb". Then AQ could simply detonate conventional explosives outside the stadiums and create sheer panic. That is something that I hope stadium security is prepared to deal with....but could they really do anything??? BTW that goes for any weekend, not just this one.

I don't know if it got MSM coverage, but on Tuesday night, October 18, 2006 one of the air detectors near Busch Stadium alerted officials that traces of a rare and potentially fatal bacteria were found by the sensors. Federal Officials warned that it could be used by terrorists as a biological weapon.

HOWEVER....follow up tests found no evidence of the bacteria, tularemia, also called rabbit fever.

Not2worry!

GO CARDS!

You nailed it kinghorse! That is my feeling as well. I think people need to wake up and realize that an attack no longer spells good fortune for conservatives. A concerted effort years in the making has successfully convinced the world (including almost 3/4 of Americans) that George Bush is to blame for all of this chaos. And unfortunately he has played right into their hands by not securing our ports and borders. So ANY attack in the US will immediately be blamed on him and the "failure of the current administration" Period. And that's why I think that there is a decent chance that something major will happen before the elections.

Rest assured we Cardinal fans are ladies and gentlemen who love the sport. Ask the Boston Soxs!

I'd be more worried about those METS fans if they lose tonight. It won't be a pretty sight.

BTW, the last game in St. Louis an air quality sensor went off and Tularemia was detected. Feds warned it could be used by terrorists as a biological weapon. Scary stuff for sure. Now after "further testing" we have be told not2worry. The bacteria commonly known as rabbit fever wasn't enough to hurt us. Guess Bugs Bunny was at the game. GO CARDS!
