Kerry says he deserves 2nd chance in '08
1 hour, 29 minutes ago
Sen. John Kerry says he deserves a second chance if he decides to take another crack at becoming president.
The Massachusetts Democrat, who lost to President Bush in 2004, said it is a basic principle that "Americans give people a second chance. And if you learn something and prove you've learned something, maybe even more so. Now, I don't know what I'm going to do yet. We'll make that decision down the road."
Ronald Reagan twice unsuccessfully sought the GOP nomination for president before he got it and won two elections for the White House.
"John McCain, their leading candidate didn't he get kicked around South Carolina by the same president because he wasn't patriotic enough as a prisoner of war? He's now their leading candidate for president," Kerry said of the Republican Party. "Richard Nixon seemed to get kicked around pretty badly both running for president and governor, turned around and came back and got elected president."
Kerry faces a major challenge trying to convince Democratic activists that a recently defeated candidate can still carry his party's hopes for recapturing the White House.

"There are a lof of DUmmies who want nothing to do with Kerry again"
There are ALOT of them over there for sure. I was surprised to see Kerry on TV this morning....whining about it. (Oh......did you know he was a Nam vet?) LOL
this guy barker from the swift boats who supports kerry must have got a free subscibtion of the heinz products of the month club
Johnny-boy and Algore will be represented in the upcoming race, to be sure. Hillary will be running on the money her people skimmed from their campaigns. It's almost like being there...
Isn't this John Kerry the French looking chap?
Before that he was trying to scrape funds together just to keep his candidacy alive.
There were also alot of Dummies who wanted nothing to do with Kerry before he won the nomination the last time. But afterwards? They all closed ranks around Kerry.
I honestly cannot believe Kerry can be this stupid.
And the same people who supported this idiot claim GWB is a moron?
Wish I could be as confident as you. Kerry, with all his grimness and anti-war baggage, came extremely close. As far as I can tell, the Republicans aren't going to have a really good candidate. They all have serious drawbacks.
I often wonder what today's population of South(ern)......
Vietnam thinks of the USA after thirty years of communist rule.
Ironically Vietnam is presently one of the safest nations and probably the friendliest that an American can visit these days. While American tourists are removing their American flag patches and some replacing them with Canadian ones during a trip to Europe or actually being arrested in Venezuela and accused of being a spy for the white house, in Vietnam you will be in fashion wearing the American flag because there the youth wear American flag T-shirts, face bandanas(sp) when riding their motorbikes in the Saigon traffic and you'll see them being sold in the streetside markets. How do they feel about the party that managed to get the rest of the country to abandon them?
Although long ago I had known this, just last week a friend told me that many people question (at home only)the successes and failures of the present government and feel that Saigon would have surpassed Hong Kong in the world regarding its status in the world if the North was not allowed to take over.
How does the VN government filter the news from America? FoxNews is available in selected cable companies in selected hotels. For the people (and they do have cable tv) cnn and Fox news is available in the next package above the basic. That would cost an extra $20 a month for the additional channels.
If you dont have the premium cable channels, then you get the government news and international news via France.
Is there enough Internet there to make any difference?
While it's not even close to the numbers of internet connections in American homes, many in Vietnam do have the internet at home. There are Internet Cafes through-out Saigon and the other cities of Vietnam which are often full.
After sharing websites with my friends for more than a year I have not seen any hint of internet censorship. Certainly I cannot say that about China (though I've never been to China). My friends in Vietnam often visit Freerepublic and most of the news links I send are from places politically center or to the right.
One other thing. I hear many focus on Vietnam's freedom of religion (which is always good to focus on for any nation) but I must say that coming from Portland, Maine where I've seen crosses on historic buildings covered by the city, I was amazed to see school children in a city just north of Saigon playing around their school which had a huge statue of jesus on the roof. It was a public school. Granted the statue was there long before the building had become a school but atleast they did not cover it as they would have in my city.
The people of Vietnam are not allowed to speak negatively about their government and it is not done in cafes in the schools or at work. That would and is only done within the walls of ones home.
Capitalism is catching on fast in Vietnam. I dare say that today's vietnam supresses the people about the same as today's Chavez in Venezuela.
With all of it's problems, compared to North Korea, Vietnam would appear more like San Francisco regarding freedom. I'm not saying that's how free Vietnam is...it's an example of just how bad it is in North Korea.
I bought 20 swift boat books last time !!!!" Unfit for Command", and used them as a tool against this JURK!!! Its looks as thow I will be buying 20 more, "UNFIT FOR COMMAND updated edition".
Im gonna hold my fire and watch him and Hillary clobber each other. LOL
I hope they do that in respect for the USA, rather than an act of youthful rebellion. However that youth rebellion could encouraging as well.
I don't have much knowledge of how the present communist party runs the country. I knew the old generation of leaders were guarded about how commerce outside the communist bloc would be accepted. I guess the fall of the USSR and changes in Red China was a cause VN to try new ideas.
Enlightening. Thanks.
"I wonder how he plans on keeping Theresa out of the picture this time around?"
Oh, now ... Tuhrayza is great fun, in a late-life Zsa Zsa Gabor, cop-slapping kind of way. And she's African-American, too, just ask her.
The Democratic Primary Debate: (according to samadams2000)
"Senator I call on to release your service papers!"
"Well Senator I call on you to release your list of lesbian lovers!"
"Thats uncalled for, I call on you to release the list of all Ani-American organizations you've been a part of!"
"Well Senator I call on you to address the many deaths of those who tried to blow the whistle on the Klinton administration"
"Well Im not married to a lush!"
Well Im not married to a rapist!" "

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kerry is on the downhill slope to insanity to think his using Nixon is his ticket to the presidency.
I got a big laugh out of him openly demonstrating that his mind is stuck in 1970.
Color me happy - can't wait to see how much money they will suck away from other races...
If only the traitorous gigolo got exactly what he deserves.
Only in the minds of delusional DemonRats and journalists.
Kerry in 2008 sounds good to this Republican. For a commercial this time I say break out the spandex windsurfing picture and rewrite Blowin in the Wind to "The answer my friend ain't blowin in the wind."
