Remember back in 91 when Mario Cuomo was the front runner and then dropped out?

This kind of reminds me of that

Kerry lives in a bizzaro-world. Wallace actually did a decent job of holding him to account, but Kerry lies for a living. He can't be held down for a good tune up.

I caught the last few minutes of kerry. That was the most idiotic set of answers to questions I've ever heard. His elevator does not get out of the basement much.

she ain't gonna fly

She's got a closet full of broomsticks and skeletons. She'll fly and the MSM will aid and abet her every step of the way. Recall how much of the real Kerry they kept covered up and away from the public eye.

I was more interested in rolling in the dirt, getting together with my friends as we threw rocks[], and climbing trees.

Isn't that basically what Carter has been doing since he left the Presidency?

Another bigger question is why is someone deciding not to run, two years before the election for said race, news. I keep thinking of Taranto's "Bottom Story of the Day" section on his Best of the Web daily column.

One reason why this story is of significance to the Beltway media, could be that they also fear a Hillary/Chomsky/moveon.org presidency, and were secretly hoping a "moderate" could prevail.

I remember seeing something over the last week that said that President Bush will be signing the fence bill in a 'big ceremony' - right before the election (IIRC it was around Oct 21)

Bush signs Mexico border-fence bill

Alaska Report ^ | 10/04/06 | Unattributed
President Bush on Wednesday signed a law that will pay for hundreds of miles of new fences along the U.S.-Mexico border, a move against illegal immigration that Republicans had sought before next month’s congressional elections. Bush had hoped to address the illegal immigration issue in a comprehensive way that would have brought beefed-up border security as well as a temporary guest worker program allowing the immigrants to work legally in the United States. He spent months advancing the idea but failed to overcome doubts from many Republicans on Capitol Hill who derided the guest worker program as an "amnesty' that...

East Valley Tribune ^ | 4 Oct. 2006 | East Valley Tribune
During a campaign swing through Arizona, President Bush plans to sign a bill that could bring hundreds of miles of fencing to the busiest illegal entry point on the U.S.-Mexico border. The signing will be another move in Bush's get-tough approach to illegal immigration and will come in the state that has been the illegal entry hot spot for several years and the center of much of the debate over secure borders. Democratic Gov. Janet Napolitano was expected to be present for the bill signing Wednesday at the Camelback Inn in Paradise Valley. The ceremony will follow a breakfast fundraiser...

Hooray for Brit Hume. He points out that the Admin is doing exactly what Juan is describing...building coalitions. But he goes on to say what I have thought for some time...they are exposing the limitations of those sorts of coalitions. I think that is part of what they are doing at the UN...exposing the limitations, not bowing down at the alter. Brit always thinks outside the talking points.

Thanks!!! This is great.

Once again, driving around Denver, I notice liberals and Democrats don't display our American flag on their vehicles.

One can always tell Republican supporters since they have the flag on their cars and trucks. No so with the Democrats. They just stickers supporting Democrats and some I Hate Bush stickers.

And Democrat liberals wonder why we don't beleive they are patriotic. By their own actions they are exposed.

"The internal polls may show Ford losing - that is why they are saying if he does, then it is 'racism'."

They'll probably try to claim that but IMHO if Ford loses it's because of his crime-laden family and the fact that he came off as a total snake in the debate I saw.

They're already saying Steele may lose because of race (nasty ol' white Republicans):

Rural areas' racism may cost Steele votes
Washington Times ^ | October 14, 2006 | S.A. Miller

Residents in Western Maryland and on the Eastern Shore say there are many whites among them who will not vote for a black candidate, such as Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele, who is running for the U.S. Senate.

"Here in rural parts of the state, race might be an issue. It shouldn't, but it might," Greg Slick, a physical education teacher at North Hagerstown High School, said at a recent Friday night varsity football game. "They are not openly going to say it."

Mr. Slick, 52, a registered Republican who is white, said he will vote for Mr. Steele. But he added that the World Knights of the Ku Klux Klan is not based in nearby Sharpsburg by accident, despite public outcry every summer over the group's annual rally at Antietam National Battlefield.

"Someone is drawing them here," he said.

David Marshall, 54, a white waterman from Crisfield on the Eastern Shore, said he is sure some of the people he works with will vote against Mr. Steele because of his skin color.

However, he said he and his friends will vote for Mr. Steele, regardless of his race.

Curious timing on the Weldon investigation!! Seems I read earlier this week that they are also after Col. Shaffer, what amazing coincidences! Only days before a major election.
What poster was it that just said the Clinton machine is working behind the scenes big time. I totally agree.

IIRC, Bill Clinton hand-picked the challenger to Weldon. That should speak volumes. Recall that Weldon was the one pushing the Able Danger issue, which would have blown the lid off of the 911 Commission's cover up.

"This is insane. John Kerry is insane. He just said the Admin has lost its ability to bring countries together...right in the face of a 15 nation vote for sanctions on North Korea under Ch. 7. Right in the face of the reality"

Such a good point you make! But reality never gets in the way of Democrats sticking to their talking points. A talking point today from several shows is how much we are hated in the world, it's all Bush's fault, blah blah, and of course Kerry would join in by saying we can't bring counries together and "it's all Bush's fault".
