it boils down to china, and I think we are scared of them. They own half our debt, have nukes, and trade and the economy is dependent on their communist economy.
That's just for the public resolution. I'd bet GW has alternate plans in mind if the UN resolution is ignored and he probably has advised the allies all about it.
Let the toothless UN save face and then, as they say, "if you want something done right, do it yourself."
This game is getting a bit old now especially since we can't ever win.

Team Bush's foreign policy regarding both Iran and NK has been stymied. They call the West's bluff, and the West blinks.
Team Bush needs to read the full Teddy Roosevelt statement. So far, they are stuck on : "Walk softly."
Remember there is a mentality about "saving face" and sometimes that has to be accommodated in the short term.
I believe the president when he says his No. 1 job is to protect America. It better be.

Looks like we have to wait for the next catastrophic attack. Seems to be the game plan now. We've become a paper eagle.

Unlike Iran, Korea has very little in the way of an economy. REAL economic sanctions, and no ability to sell weapons, would cause that place to fall apart like a cheap suit. The real problem is verification, and how much we can trust China and Russia. Also, if the government collapse, what takes its place. I say reunification with South Korea is the only good solution if it is possible.
