Police said a 14-year-old boy was defending himself and his mother when he shot and killed an intruder Monday afternoon at their home on Ocean Drive.
Capt. John Houston said the 14-year-old boy, whose name was not released, was home from school after becoming ill, and his 46-year-old mother, Rose Ann Kozlowski, had just returned from the grocery store when she was confronted by a man with a knife. ... After the robber caught the woman trying to untie herself once, she was able to free herself and her son and find her husband's pistol in a security box under the bed. She tried to shut double doors to the bedroom as the man tried to push them open and her son held the gun.
"She was using all her strength to push them," Houston said, adding that the boy aimed at the man through a space in the door and fired one shot.
"He shot once and hit him in the head, killing him instantly," Houston said. "He took a life-saving measure to save his mother and himself."

Think if it as one more thing that the kid can do for his heroic mom, the mom can do for her heroic son, or the father can do for his heroic wife and son. Win, Win, Win, any way you look at it!

Good shooting, and excellent target choice. No bullet proof vest on the head. Also no chance for the perp to try something else.

I didn't see it yesterday.
The correct way to show it was already posted is to put the post URL and say more information here.
It makes it seem you do want anybody else to see the post.

"Lot of luck involved in a shot like that."
Or,...it could have been range time practice, good "gun control" and good aim.

One problem. It will take some time to clean the floor:-)) Let's be positive.
Maybe the kid used a .22, and this scumbag's scrambled brains were contained within his cranium.
After the EMTs dragged his carcass outside...a little Fantastik...a couple of paper towels...life is good.

Most 14 year old used to do a mans job and knew about weapons.
I guess sitting in front of a computer or watching TV makes some people afraid and nervous around weapons.

Okay, How do you search for a post if you haven't seen it.
Please try to follow my advice about putting the URL and saying more info here.
I guess you are the self appointed post police and hate people to see the post!

Posted yesterday, in real news. capt. norm:
Thank heaven someone re-posted it or I would have missed it.
The previous thread from a different source was posted not long after the event happened and had very limited details. This updated version has more details about the location and the invader(s).

Sorry for the dupe, I did a search with the word "defending" and didn't find it.
Man don't be sorry for posting an article again after some 19 hours or more from the original post. The mods will let a repost go after a few hours.... You did good as it seems several missed the original.
Bumping along......

With our crazy liberal court system the boy will probably get 20 to life for shooting a gun without a license.
