They say the same dang thing every election
IIRC .. they even said Jeb Bush was going down
Repubs will gain a handful.
But this time, THEY might actually be right.
Not if the 60+ million who voted for Bush show up at the polls.
Not if folks get out and vote to keep the dems out of office
Yeah, and dewey defeats truman, again...
no the lamestream media has gone all out in presenting the Democrats position for this election...
Agreed. Except it's possible the base won't show. PO'd about the insanity on the border...the rampant globalism in the guest worker agenda being pushed....the lack of a decent plan for Iraq, the scandals (Not Foley, but maybe the coverup and the Abramhoff crappola) the lack of conservative direction on anything....the lack of a plan for the rest of the Axis of Evil. A lot of talk and then nothing. And we still haven't killed OBL. I'm not certain but what the 'Pubbies need a good spankin' I'll take two years of Pelosi in trade for a good GOP President. I have a feeling that after two years of detailing all the stuff the RATs try to pull in increased taxes and decreased preps for terror, the country may well exile them to Venezuela forever. And they'll never learn on gun control. If they come to power they can't help themselves. It's like a lemming reflex. They'll flood the House with gun bans and the people will see that for what it is....a power grab.
If push polling and reporting becomes an more vitriolic in being pro-democrat,
Reporting on Nov 7th will be like this, "LA LA LA LA LA LALALALA LA LA LA AAAAAA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU LA LA LA LA DEMOCRATS ARE GOING TO WIN LA LA LA LA DON'T CARE WHAT RESULTS ARE LA LA LA LA LA LA, and back to Katie Couric."
The message a defeat will send the GOP is not the one you think. In fact, defeat will turn the GOP away from the extreme right and more to the middle. If the extreme right cannot understand this then the GOP is sunk for a long time.
The only people that refer to conservatives as the "extreme right" are Liberals.
Let's get something straight shall we? The Republican Party has been governing from the "middle" which means the left. That's why they got themselves into this damn mess.
They lose and it'll be because they betrayed conservatives, not because the "extreme right" represented by Reaganites, Limbaugh listeners and so forth are too "extreme" to win an election. We've won enough of them to have proved otherwise. Nor will the Party make a turn to the "middle" in the event of a loss. They have already been governing from the "middle" (LEFT) so unless they want to make a marxist turn like the Dems there is not much more turning in that direction they can go.
For the record, I don't believe these junk polls the MSM is shoveling about a loss of the majority. And I've decided to show up this year after all. But I'll be damned if I let someone on a conservative board no less brandish conservatives as extremists and the GOP as having governed according to the wishes of these so called extremists. far from reality as anything I've heard.
It was not "conservatives" who turned on the first President Bush but Loons. At best 35% of the nation is conservative and only about 5% Far Right. That 5% will NOT dictate the course of action for the GOP or the Nation and its whiney petualance has become more and more tiresome. Almost any action produces threats from them to take their ball and go home so no one relies upon them for anything.
Nor are there ANY candidates who aren't laughable to the other 95% of the voters who they support. NO ONE is good enough for them. They are NOT the people who voted for Reagan either. HE was not good enough for them either being an ex-democrat and one who attracted democrats and moderates as well as conservatives.
Many of the Far Rightists have NOTHING to do with Conservativism or Conservatives but shill day and night for a Turd Party. They have NEVER elected ANYONE to a major office. Even Ron Paul must fool Republicans to win.
Most Republicans and Conservatives are NOT extremists no matter how desperately the Treason Media and the extremists themselve want to claim they are.
My statement is still entirely correct should the GOP lose big time this fall it will NOT turn to the right but to the center.
Those polls are all pretty accurate. They were taken before Wellstone died, skewing the numbers. The only one off is everyone thinking Strickland would beat Allard, which seemed likely at the time.
Youth get a grip. They had Saxy Chambliss a huge underdog in GA.
"Dem Lead/Tossup" would seem to indicate he wasn't considered an underdog, just not favored to win. As I recall the Democrats had a couple of unpleasant surprises in Georgia, because Sonny Purdue really was considered a "huge underdog."
From what I can see, they predicted two Democrat seats that went Republican, and one Republican seat that went Democrat. Everything else is as it was. Not a big indictment as no one's going to predict every race correctly.
