A leftist group with strong ties to the Democratic Party and to radical billionaire George Soros may have engaged in criminal obstruction of justice in the Foley case. FBI investigators have accused the group CREW of concealing evidence of Rep. Mark Foleys sexual misconduct over a period of several months.
George Soros Open Society Institute contributed $100,000 to CREW in January 2006.
CREW is little more than a front for George Soros Shadow Party, charges David Horowitz. CREW has been withholding this evidence for months, apparently in order to release it just before the election. It is well known that Soros keeps a tight rein on groups that he funds. He and his Shadow Party cannot evade responsibility for CREWs actions.
The Shadow Party is a network of private political groups, organized and led by George Soros, which exerts a powerful but hidden influence over the Democratic Party, according to Horowitz.
The workings of this network are described in the newly-released New York Times bestseller THE SHADOW PARTY: HOW GEORGE SOROS, HILLARY CLINTON AND SIXTIES RADICALS SIEZED CONTROL OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY, by David Horowitz and Richard Poe (Thomas Nelson, 2006).
At a press conference on Monday, October 2, CREW announced that it had been holding incriminating e-mails revealing Foleys sexual misconduct since at least July 2006. CREW said it turned these e-mails over to the FBI in July, but the FBI failed to act.
The FBI counters that CREW provided only edited versions of the e-mails, and refused to surrender the unedited originals. Investigators say that CREW refuses to divulge where it got the e-mails, and may have been holding them since at least April 2006 months before CREW alerted the FBI of their existence.
In response, CREW has accused the FBI of lying, thus pitting George Soros Shadow Party against Americas top federal law enforcement agency, in a head-on confrontation.
I saw that about Cantwell on soundpolitics (great site for us in the Pacific NW). McGavick is a good guy and has been running 'nice' ads. They're good in that he mentions
an issue and says how Maria voted and how he'd vote. I don't read the Seattle lib papers, so don't know how much play Maria's situation has received in the media; however, from what I gather- - not much. I find it quite interesting that the divorce docs were 'sealed' then resealed - - great that Stephan gotten them unsealed and a peak at the contents
Morning Bump!!
Does anyone at the FBI take their job seriously or are they going to 911 this one too? Here comes the big Whitewash by the FBI.
Pray for W and Our Troops
"I didn't watch that interview. I would like to read a transcript of it."
I didn't see the interview, but did hear (I think Neal mentioned it, but could be wrong) that Soros got a bit huffy when Neal tried to question him about things he didn't want to talk about, and, he said something to the effect of - I came on this show to talk about my donation and Clinton's program.
I haven't read it yet, but here's a link on Fox to the transcript - I think they also have the video in 3 parts

"Typo? Do you mean Melanie Sloan? And isn't she Plame-Wilson's lawyer in the (frivolous) civil suit?"
Yes she is. She also worked for Conyers and Biden.
Here are some more articles that include CREW, in case you haven't seen them. There is probably a mention of CREW and/or Rogers in most of the articles on Foley (just do a search w Foley or CREW as the keyword). Clarice Feldman has done some great work on American Thinker - I highly recommend all of her articles. Also a lot of good work on strata-sphere and macsmind.
Excerpt:
Who is C.R.E.W.?
Heres what The Hill wrote:
One target of Republican criticism is Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), the group that last year assisted former Rep. Chris Bell (D-Texas) in drafting an ethics complaint against DeLay, which resulted in an admonishment of DeLay from the ethics committee. At last weeks press conference, Melanie Sloan, CREWs executive director, said that DeLay should step down as majority leader.
From 1995 to 1998, CREWs Sloan served as minority counsel for the House Judiciary Committee under Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.). Before that, Sloan served as the nominations counsel on the Senate Judiciary Committee under Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.).
According to GOP research, Mark Penn, who had been a pollster for President Clinton, and Daniel Berger, a major Democratic donor, are on CREWs board. Spokeswoman Naomi Seligman declined several requests to reveal the membership of CREWs board, although she confirmed that Penn and Berger are members. Last year, Berger made a $100,000 contribution to America Coming Together (ACT), a 527 group that was dedicated to defeating Bush in the presidential election, according to politicalmoneyline.com, a website that tracks fundraising.
CREW declined to respond to the RNC talking points or House GOP research.
C.R.E.W. is one of four public interest organizations which the RNC has long identifed as major recipients of George Soros richly-funded Open Society Institute. It is backing the risible Wilson/Plame civil suit against Cheney and others.

John Aravosis is yapping up a storm, and letting out details he doesnt quite comprehend are (a) not common knowledge and (b) implicate him as working to orchestrate Foleygate in the media. It is important to note all the activity in July of 2006 regarding the non-salacious emails between Foley and a Page from Louisianna (aka, the LA Page). I have done numerous posts on these emails (the last one here with back referencing links). Reader TopSecretK9 as reminded me of this Aravosis comment when he admitted in October that he had the Foley Emails in July and mentioned he had done nothing after talking to CREW. She found this recent Aravosis post which tipped some more information out:
When I received the Foley emails this past July, had I been warned two or three years ago that Foley was stalking pages, Id have turned the emails over to the FBI myself, not waiting for CREW to do it (which was shortly after I received them anyway)

Spokeswoman Naomi Seligman declined several requests to reveal the membership of CREWs board,
I don't get this -- aren't boards supposed to be a matter of public record?
Probably because Soros is largely funding the DNC.
Seriously folks, the day this guy assumes room temperature will be a great day for America.
Whenever $oreA$$ and his spawn stop wasting Oxygen, our country and the world will be a better and safer place.
That is the undeniable truth.
Damn them all.
I would think so, but not sure about 503(c)s or 527s.

C-span just announced a press conference at 11 eastern called by Hastert?????
I hope he isn't caving.
Thanks for the link to the transcript. I will read it later today.
You're very welcome MM.
BTW - re #44 "It's a good thing I wasn't answering "Clintonistas for $100" on Jeopardy!"
LOL! I can understand why you'd try to forget a snake like Sydney (bleech! - -I don't know who is worse, him or Rahm Emanuel - -and Harold Ickes name certainly fits him!).
I think you'd do great on Jeopardy! I've read a lot of your posts and they are informative and well-written!
Best,

Will Ted Kennedy Ever Become President?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHHH87ZyxeY&mode=related&search=
Thanks for the info! I hope I get to see some of it before I leave for work! I agree, I hope he isn't caving either. I saw a clip on Fox that showed Hastert on a riding lawn mower. They said something to the effect of he was supposed to be out campaigning, but, instead is laying low, but will campaign w the President when he comes to Illinois later this week.
I'm hoping he has a real bombshell to drop against the Dems. I know he wanted Freeh to lead the investigation but Stretch Pelosi said no (not sure what gives her any veto rights). Don't recall seeing if Freeh was in fact going to investigate. I hope he is, and, if Hastert hasn't confirmed that, maybe that's what the presser is about. There also seems to have been some discrepancies between what Reynolds, Fordham and others have said about who they notified and when - - maybe he'll straighten that out. Oh well, no use speculating (but, I can't help it LOL!).
CREW began as a one-woman shop with a shoestring budget in early 2003, but Sloans big mouth and flair for publicity quickly made CREWs reputation and garnered it sufficient resources to expand. Last year Sloan hired a deputy director, Naomi Seligman, from Media Matters for America; this year she hired a counsel and two more staffers. The board of directors consists of Louis Mayberg, president of a mutual-fund firm, Donna Edwards of the Arca Foundation, Philadelphia-based attorney and Democratic fund-raiser Dan Berger, and pollster Mark Penn.
I don't know how up-to-date it is.
Update....the presser is now scheduled for around noon....he is in his home district so he has a friendly forum.
I hope he comes out with both barrels! The bad guy has resigned and all this focus on who knew what when doesn't make a bit of sense when we are at war, our national security is an issue, the economy is booming, etc. etc !
I hope he has decided that if Pelosi won't take Freeh, he is going to nominate someone worse for their side.
