Hello,
Your post made me LOL! Too funny, the idea that the press would ever paint anything but a glowing, winning, life is grand picture for a Dem....
Sigh, they are a bunch of perfect couples, aren't they? All the Dems and all the members of the press...
Glad to be here, MOgirl

Can you give us some anecdotal evidence? What makes you so sure that the talented Talent is going to pull this off? I agree with you, but I wanted to hear what someone from Missouri had to say about the dynamics of the race.

It would help if Sen. Talent's website would accept online donations ...
It had an error the other day and would not take the card. I almost gave the money to Keane ...

MOGirl,
As a fellow Show Me stater I hope you are right. My problem is I live in a subdivision that is almost entirely Republican, except for our one union AB guy, and I can't seem to convince any of them to rally around Talent. In point of fact, I have several who think it better we lose and comeback in '08 with traditional Republican values, such as smaller government and lower taxes. If I can't get these folks motivated, what happens to the marginal Republicans?

Don't buy the crap about friction between NRSC and RNC -- It's El AP after all ... And Fox News too, I know, but I don't even have a lot of trust in Fox news -- they have a lot of idiot Demonkats on their payroll, and are only slightly less conservative than the rest of the cable news clown networks.
My prediction -- on Nov 8, we will retain both the House and the Senate, notwithstanding all the polls and talking heads that predict otherwise.

the National Republican Senatorial Committee said it had $18.6 million in the bank as of the end of August, compared to $29.8 million for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.
Did the leadership get the message that the base will not support RINOs anymore? Does money talk loud enough?

So we get McRoadkill, Cherod Brown in Ohio, and Junior in Tennessee, and a few other leftist idealogues, and we end up with Amnesty for 13 million illegals. Those Conservative Republican purists, in essence voted themselves dhimmitude.

Menendez NJ (D) RCP has him up in most polls and is, at best, calling it a tossup. Given that it's New Jersey I'm figuring that Menendez is re-elected in 2006, indicted in 2007, and jailed in 2008.

Hello,
Well, the polls here are from pro-Left papers, the national polls are (for the most part) as well. Also, there is Prop 2, the Stem Cell Constitutional Amendment. IMHO, the same voters that turned out to vote down Gay Marriage in MO will turn out on this one, in order to vote it down. Those are more conservative voters, and more likely Talent voters. If this passes, our elected representatives will not have a voice on this issue in the future, and by extension, neither will we.
The Foley "issue" seems to have ticked off the religious right, but not in the way the Libs/DBM wanted. It has been a combination of a Wellstone Memorial/Political Rally meets the Rather Forged Memos event.
Talent's opponent has made some HUGE PR errors, from using one set of talking points in the cities, and another in the rural areas (re; gun control) and stating that Bush wanted black people to die during Katrina.
Hey, I could be wrong, but I do believe at this point, that Talent will win.
Glad to be here, MOgirl
